Hi everyone! I have narrowed my choices to these two, but, I cannot find any info on here for either of these resorts? Has anyone been married here? reviewed it? done a site visit? I am getting married feb. 2012 and want to choose a resort this week....if anyone knows a thread and can direct me there or if someone can pass some info along! thanks!

        Hi kd and jen,

I am getting married at Secrets Capri on December 17, 2011. After having a lot of issues with the resort we originally chose, Now Jade, we quickly had to find another resort to switch to. I've had family visit Secrets Capri before and they had nothing but good thing to say about the resort. The prices of Secrets Capri and Silversands are comparable, but Capri gets much better reviews (check them out on Trip Advisor). So far the wedding coordinator at Capri, Martina, has been a pleasure to work with. She replies to emails VERY quickly, she's extremely friendly, and she speaks perfect English, so I have no fear of miscommunication....which was a major problem we had with Now Jade. I hope this helps!

I guess it narrows down to what you're looking for in your resort. I also went through tripadvisor and many people quoted about the quality of beach at Silversands. Some said that no one went into the beach but if you wanted to, could walk a couple minutes for nicer condition. There wasn't much difference in price so we chose Capri, where people could go in the beach. We're getting married there October 10th 2011 and Martina has been very helpful. Can't wait to be there!

I did a site visit to Secrets Silversands in May 2011 but have not visited Capri.  Silversands was nice as far as the rooms, food, etc. but the beach was a turn off. I"m not a big beach person so it did  not bother me to not go into the water.  Thats why beach on the Cancun Hotel zone better.   But the food was amazing!

Just do a search in this forum at the top. Typing in "Silversands" came up with multiple threads!

I was in a wedding at Secrets Capri last month and it was lovely. My best friend got married there and everything went off without a hitch. She had her ceremony on the grass beside the gazebo and her reception in the beach side restaurant. Here ceremony started at 5, if you are looking or a more private wedding I would suggest doing that time as well. We saw other weddings while we were there and the ones in the afternoon tended to have more people watching from the pool, etc. The only thing she would have changed is skipping the DJ and just using an ipod (since he pretty much just played their list anyway)

                  Hello FutureMrsPeters.

Did your best friend use the DJ from the resort or did she contact an outside vendor? Did she substitute the Mexican Trio that is included in the package for the DJ service? thanks for your help
