You should look into Hideki Falcon at www.buttonupmx.com. He just shot my wedding last month in Tulum and was amazing! I worked in the photo business in NYC for years so photography was really important to me. His images were beautiful and natural and his prices are extremely reasonable. He's also a total doll and speaks great english. Seriously, I could not have been more satisfied! Check him out!

I am aCanadian Photographer with over 11 years of experience with Wedding Photography. After completing several freelance projects and destination weddings throughout the Caribbean, Mexico and Europe, I decided to open a destination studio in the quaint and artistic town of Puerto Morelos, Mexico.

I am currently booking destination weddings in Cancun, Puerto Morelos, Playa del Carmen, Puerto Aventuras, Akumal and Tulum, Mexico and am available for a consultation with clients via internet who are interested in having me capture their special day. In light of the fact that tis is my first year here working on a long term basis I am open to creating a promo package that would fall within your budget. Please visit my web site at www.miriambeach.com and if you are interested, please contact me at www.miriambeach.com

As a photographer who is often flown in, I can say that it's not always expensive, and can often be less expensive than hiring the resort photographer.

As a guest at the resort I do not need a vendor fee.  Work visas are filled out on the FMT form when we enter the country and allow us to work there for up to a certain amount of days without paying taxes.

For the cost of travel alone, it depends.  Some photographers are desperately trying to be destination wedding photographers because they think it's glamorous or they want to start their portfolio.  So you can sometimes get it for the cost of travel alone.  But typically there will be a charge above and beyond travel for the full service.  For instance, I start at $1,000 above travel for full day wedding coverage and all edited images on a full resolution disc.

I know a lot of good photographers that will do a service of 3 hrs for 1000usd, unfortunately the resorts charge up to 800 usd for the vendor's fees so it is very sad you have to pay a lot for  services. ONe great photographer is Naiara at Naal, another Mirko at MilaniPhoto, they do not advertise because they are small but not everyone can pay a lot for ads .... send a msg and i will give you their emails.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
