Bridesmaid Gifts - Creative Ideas?

Recommended Posts

Thanks so much Sharon, it is nice to hear because sometimes it is hard to tell if your DIY projects are any good lol you spend so much time looking at them that you either LOVE them too much or HATE them when they're good lol

They look great, Tori! You really are an impressively crafty DIYer!

I wanted to make one for my Best Friend who is getting married on the 23rd of this month and I am her MOH.  I will be holding a surprise bachelorette/shower for her on the 20th and want to give it to her then.  I finished hers (may attempt it one more time, let me know if you think it is any good lol) and then did a mock up of my own!!!!!!! I removed the wood bar that was attached in the hanger (for pants or something) and attached the wire there.  I considered doing them all wire but like the "durability" of the wood hanger as you know that it will hold the dress lol!!!  I lined the underside of the hanger with ribbon (her colour is pink for mine I just did ivory) to give it a more finished looked and to cover up where the wire is attached.

Let me know what you think ladies!!! I am considering doing MOH and BM ones for my wedding but not certain.  I could also do their names.....

I have no idea what to get my BM's. They all have pretty different tastes. I'm thinking maybe a monogramed robe and simple earrings, but I like the horseback excursion idea too! I wish I had an unlimited budget!

I love the idea of having a get together and sneaking in the question about their favorite colors! :)

Love the diy hangers!!! I want to try to diy it as well but i'm afraid to attempt it haha. I may get the wooden hangers and use a stencil to spray paint their initials on the top part and maybe a ribbon to add in my wedding colors.

    • I have stayed at Dreams La Romana and Dreams Dominicus.  The two resorts are very different in style and decor. A few comparison points are below and fact sheets are attached for both.   Both resorts are approx 45 minutes from Punta Cana airport, close proximity to Saona Island, Catalina Island and Altos de Chavon. Top championship golf courses in the Caribbean are just minutes away including Teeth of the Dog, Dye Fore, The Links and La Estancia – all designed by world-famous Pete Dye. Restaurants are similar at both resorts.  Both offer the Explorers Club for Kids.  Dreams Dominicus  Brand new resort and in 2016 488 rooms (however additional construction was underway) More contemporary style & decor Good beach area Rooms were very nice Preferred Club located in main lobby and adjacent to main pool & beach front Food was good Center plaza area with nighttime entertainment Main lobby is small, but outdoor bar off lobby is nice Dreams La Romana Originally built in 2003 & opened as Dreams La Romana in 2008 756 rooms Recently renovated and new preferred club adults only lounge & pool added  Rooms are more traditional Caribbean decor Grounds are very lush and tropical Good beach area food was good    Dreams Dominicus fact sheet.pdf Dreams La Romana fact sheet.pdf
    • My sister has done it but with the destination wedding, only super close family members and friends came since it was expensive and farther. It was great though.
