Hey Tabby,

Yes I did, and they do charge a fee, but will hand them out for you. I handed them out at the welcome dinner, and it was just fine.

I qualified for all private functions, I was not charged ANY set up fee what so ever UNLESS I wanted a function on the beach, which I didnt have, but did have all events outside, with the exception of the farewell bruch the day after the wedding.  I have open bar with private bartender for 4 hours )again no additional charge)    If you are having a private reception you have private bar set up with bartender and private servers specific to your wedding.  You wedding coord. stands by the whole time up until the cake is served.    I am not sure if they will charge you for linens if you have one of the wedding collections/ package,s I chose the complementary package and was not charged for linens.

Hey Tanya :)

They do charge for the Cielo Terrace set up though dont they?  I thought that was like $6pp or something.  Did you have your cocktail hour there?  The ceremony is at the beach, they dont charge for that either.  Cool!  These people confuse you at the Miami office... you see all kind of charges on the contract too the whole $6pp on the Cielo Terrace ... the other charges at the reception.  But maybe you are right that is if you get a collection which we are getting sorta.  We are coping the Amethyst collection with the lines and chuppa lines etc. so maybe that is the charge I am seeing.  I am so lost... LOL!

But its good to know what you did and didnt do. HELPS SOOO MUCH! :)

BTW where did you have your morning after breakfast?  There is a inside option?

So, has anybody been married at Playacar Palace recently? I'm being told by my travel agent that they are no longer accepting outside venders such as DJ, Photographer and Hair/make-up  artist. Can anybody confirm this? Or were you able to pay the day pass and bring them in? This is news to me and I already have down payments and contracts will all of them. This is a huge red flag for me if this cant happen!

I have a ton of pictures if you would like to see them and I am so happy with our choice.  We are traveling with a ton of kids so we decided on the cove to keep them occupied and safe, my thinking being that Playacar  is awefully close to 5th ave and while its perfect for the adults, I want to be able to just let my kids go for a bit and I cant do that unless it is secluded lol I think they can be trouble magnets.  FH says they have the best pina colodas too...

Hey, I had a welcome cocktail on the cielo terrace 2 days before the wedding bc there were only a few guests there so i wanted something for those people that came in early, and my cocktail hour after the ceremony and before the reception was there as well, I did not pay the $6.00 pp.  When I left there, my total bill was maybe $1000.00 and that was bc I upgraded my cake and it was for flowers small things etc...PS.  the only thing that I EVER did with Miami was the original wedding contract and the FIRST site visit was set up through them...they were very confusing and information was very inconsistant.  So I would take EVERYTHING Miami says with a greain of salt.  Not saying dont be prepared for what they are saying, just reconfirm with your WC once you start speaking with them.

O Sorry I didnt answer you ? about the breakast, there is an Asian  resturant off of the international buffett, they set that up for us, and everyone ate off of the buffett, but it was nice to get to see the people that were leaving that morning without people that werent with our group sitting in between...Also, I gave the time from 9-11 so people came at their leisure...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
