Just back from our wedding last week. Patricia was our wedding planner on site and she was fabulous everything we discussed was done. Be prepared for them to try to sell you additional things (lighting, candles, torches, etc) the photography experience was horrendous.. we had Patrick he was great the pictures came out good (i would compare them to cruise photos they don't have camera equipment like a wedding photographer would use) however Patrick got some really nice shots... the part we had a problem with was we had to spend about 2-3 hours picking out our photos we wanted while we were there. If we had time to go home and look at them we probably would have picked out more but since we were rushed we took what our package gave us. If I had to do it all over again I would have had a real wedding photographer, the pictures would have been even nicer and u wouldn't waste time on your vacation picking out photos. We had the steel pan for cocktail hour and then a dj for 3 hours they were both great!!!! Other than that everyone at the resort was nice, food was great! My other complaint is it's "very corporate" and I don't think they let their employees think out of the box, so a few times it was rather annoying.

Wow, really hope we can budget in a photographer.

Hi,

I'm having my wedding there too next year and I have a TA working on it for me. I send the save the dates and they contact her. We did a contract with a minimum of 10 rooms and we made a deposit. That was the only way to insure the prices.

We are using a TA as well.  Did you send out your save the dates as of yet?

Yes. I sent them right after Christmas.

Hi! I'm brand new here (havent even loaded a picture yet)....I am getting Married 7/9/2014 T&C.  It will be very intimate - just my fiance and I and our 2 children ages 9 and 11 (this is a second marraige for both of us so I really just want to focus on what's most important this time....I've done the big traditional wedding before).  But, Obviously i still want our day to be very nice for us.....I'm sure I will have lots of questions as i have a chance to look over hundreds of pages of information here :) but one quick simple question i have first is:  right now we are planning on going with the beautiful beginnings package....the website states the flowers are fucshia but i've seen several posts on here stating its magenta....so are the flowers more purple or pink (fucshia or magenta?).  I just want to make sure whatever I pick for my daughter to wear will not clash with color of the wedding decor. Any other suggestions or ideas or tips until i come up with my next question is most welcome!! thanks everyone and im excited to have found this forum! Nicole
I just got back from my wedding it was an intimate wedding just my husband and I. We did the beginnings and my flowers were purple orchids. More purple than pink. I'll see if I can upload a photo here so you can see. We got married in the small gazebo it was soo beautiful. You will love it. :) Natalia

Natalia, Congratulations on your wedding!! Thanks so much for sharing- a picture would be great if you don't mind! Is there any other advice you would give? Questions I should be sure to ask? Were you able to preview the script from the officiant? Did you get your hair done on the resort? Lol. Jeez good thing I'm not planning a big wedding I'd be a mess haha. Again, Congrats and best wishes for a long happy marriage! Nicole

Hi Nicole just sent you a photo. Hope you got it. Yes I got my hair and make up done at the resort. I just told the lady what I wanted and she made it happened. The hair an make up was separate so be prepare to pay at least 200 more for that. We met with our wedding planner 2 days before the wedding she showed us the places where we could get married and we chose the gazebo. You also get to taste cakes and pick one. Also yes they give you two choices for what the pastor should read. We liked both so he read both. One was called the art of marriage very pretty. They make you sign paperwork for all the legal stuff and they explain how everything is going to go. She said it takes 8-16 weeks for you to receive your marriage certificate. We really enjoyed everything. We didn't pay anything extra. (Aside for my hair and make up). I didn't buy a photo package we just bought per photo. Each one was 24 dollars. Everything was wonderful we are so happy we chose beaches. Everyone is so nice. :)

Thank you! The picture was very helpful and you looked stunning! It makes me feel better knowing they did such a good job on your hair! You didn't have to pay for them to TAKE your photos? They just took some pictures, and you bought them if you liked them??

Yes. You have the option to buy one of their packages that range from 1400-2500. But we didn't buy any package a photographer just took a couple of photos and we got to see them the next day on a monitor and we just chose the ones we wanted to purchase. $24 a photo. What we did instead was pay an outside photographer to do a photo shoot after the wedding. They are amaizing and take much better photographs. Maybe you have read about them here in the forum. They are briliant by tropical imaging. See their site and their blog where you see samples of their work. :) http://www.brilliant.tc/

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
