Recommended Posts

Well I actually found this site through cruise critic! I was originally going to be doing a cruise wedding but changed my mind, and alot of people on there talked about how great a site BDW was so I decided to check it out, and I was hooked! It was actually this site that helped me change my mind about a cruise wedding and Im glad I did.

It may save you some money but then you will have to spend more money sending out new invites or save the dates, and whatever else you may have to change, so will it really save you that much money? I think you should stay with April.

Yes I do have a pic of my dress, here it is....

I totally found BDW by accident! I was looking on info/pics of weddings done at Beaches T&C (which is NOT easy to find), when this website came up in a search. I got more info about Beaches T&C here, then anywhere!!

I wanna know why everyone choose Beaches/Turks for their wedding!!! Here is my story...

We decided on a destination wedding about a month after engagement...I went to a TA and told her my only requirement is AMAZING BLUE WATER!!!! We talked about the Caribbean, then she dropped the bomb on the price to me. So then we talked about Mexico. She sent me home with a boatload of brouchers, prices, and info. I went to Cayman a few years ago and the water was awesome, then we went to Mexico and the water/beach was so dissapointing.  So the question became do I go with the less expensive/not great beach or more expensive/amazing beach?I went with the water :)The best part is, when i asked the adive of my closest friends, they were all so awesome, and said do Turks, go with your heart. They said they would all come b/c they wouldnt miss it for the world, regardless of price,  and when would they ever have the chance to go to Turks again! Love them!! As far as choosing Beaches, allowing kids and all-inclusive sealed the deal for us! We really want everyone to be able to come, stay at the same place, and enjoy each others company!

Ok, heres my story...

Originally it was a toss up between a cruise or sandals, I weighed the options and leaned more towards sandals resorts bc they were all inclusive, well the more I thought about it, and looked into it more and realized that sandals was for couples only, and you had to be over 18, so if we had singles come to our wedding they told me they could get a room to their self but would still paying the price as if two people were in the room, well that threw that out for me. So then we looked into beaches resorts, and the options were of course Jamaica or Turks, FI and I had been to Jamaica and Turks before and we werent really down with Jamaica but looooooooved Turks and Caicos and not to mention the gorgeous blue water they had and the beaches are just plain beautiful, so Turks it was!

Here's how I picked Beaches T&C- It took us a while to decide exactly how we wanted to get married.  We considered doing a small traditional wedding, but the cost was too high (neither of our parents are able to pay for the wedding).  Then we thought about getting married on a cruise, but we didn't want to be stuck on a cruise-ship with our families while we're on our honeymoon.  So, after about 6 months of researching, we both agreed that a destination wedding was the way to go; we just needed to choose the place!

I did NOT want to go to Mexico, no matter how cheap it is. We originally wanted to go to Sandals Grande Antigua, but then we found out that some of our family members w/ children were planning to go to our wedding (and they would not be able to stay at Sandals).  Being that Beaches Turks and Caicos was our second choice, we decided to get married there.  I LOVE that the resort has sooo many different restaurants to choose from, as well as a lazy river and water slides. We're going to be staying for 8 nights, and if it were any other resort, I'd be afraid we'd be bored by day 4 or 5, but I am sure we will always find something fun to do or a different place to eat every day!  And most importantly, I cannot wait to see their GORGEOUS white sand beach and clear-blue water!!  I am SOOO glad we chose Beaches T&C...we cannot wait!!!!  :-)

Hmm..I was pretty honest with my friends and family. I sent an email stating that the average flight from Houston was $700 and from New York $600, and that the lowest category room was $673.00 at the time. Those who decided that they were not going to (or able to) attend asked that I have a reception once I return, so that they can celebrate with us. (I'm having a formal AHR 6 weeks after we return from Turks).

At the end of the day, it has worked out pretty well. That's my story...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
