Just an FYI Tropical Pictures on facebook added a bunch of new photos...even of the cocktail hour and the rooftop bar area. But lots of weddings and they are really nice. Actually so nice I am starting to think I may use them after all. :)

Hello, Yes same here we were together up until 2:00 pm then I went to the spa and he went off with the boys... My cake :( didn't come out like I wanted it was falling to one side but some people thought it was suppose to look that way...? I just had them take it to the back because it looked funny I put a picture of us on the table instead and two Hello Kitty wedding dolls which looked cute I had ...always have a back up plan just in case ;) Overall everything was great :D Julie

Did you ladies have the 3 hour reception, and if so did it seem long enough for dinner and dancing? Did you get the dance floor as extra, and if so how much was it? I was thinking of having everyone meet up at one of the bars for drinks before the beach reception at 7pm. Anyone have any suggestions on what bar to meet at that has enough room and in a good location to the beach for about 40 people? Thanks so much!

Ladies: For those that did a cocktail hour.... Did your WC provide tables for you or did you have to pay for each? and did it include table clothes, centerpieces etc.?

                  Hi Bjeantil,

They don't provide tables for the cocktail hour...what they do is leave the ceremony seats in place in case your guests want to sit down while they snack on the hors d'oeuvres. The cocktail hour I believe for the canapes and one drink runs you $14 per person...but this might have changed since I was quoted that price.

                      Hi Parrish,

I actually extended the reception to 4 hours since we felt 3 might feel like it was too little time. However, we had a fairly large wedding where it took everyone 15-20 minutes to move from one room to the next and took twice as long to feed them all. It really depends on what you're going to be doing during the reception: i.e. entrances...we had his fraternity do a dance, etc etc.

We were in Bar Higuey so no dance floor was necessary.

The bar we used to hang out at was Bar Caray in the main lobby upstairs on the 2nd floor. It was air conditioned and the only bar that had 'premium' drinks available (some for an extra cost). It's spacious enough to fill all your guests.

                      Good luck.
