Hi ladies,

I also noticed that the wedding brochure says 25 people for the private reception but I'm pretty sure it's just a typo.  We only paid the $50 per extra person and not anything additional for that mysterious missing 10 people.  It was never an issue.

Also, I had asked Marlene repeatedly about spa appointments as the day got closer and I was trying to finalize my day-of timeline.  She initially had me and my bridesmaids scheduled for early afternoon which was not going to work since we were doing first look & pictures before the 5pm ceremony.  I was on her for weeks to get this changed and she kept saying it was based on availability of the spa - sorta silly right?  If there are weddings going on, they should staff accordingly.  It wasn't until the day of our meeting that she gave me the updated schedule and we were all done with hair & makeup before 1pm.

Disazaja please forward me the spanish version just in case [email protected] Sunny...you saved the day again, thanks for the clarification!!

Sunny while I have your attention how did the cocktail hour work? $12 per person for canapes & 1 drink per person how does that work out? What if people want more than one drink each which will prob be the case with my guests do they charger you per drink after the alloted one? It makes me crazy that I added this to my package no one bothered to mention it only includes one drink per person!!! Ugh!

Hmmm...I don't remember her ever saying it was only one drink, I think there was only one TYPE of drink though.  They had these frozen blue cocktails for everyone but I can't imagine that they limited everyone to only having one.  We also had champagne served after the ceremony so that probably helped too.  I was taking pictures during the cocktail hour so I don't really remember - sorry!

Coco,

Here's the link to their website: http://www.secure-booker.com/uspa/MakeAppointment/Search.aspx

You can change the language on the top right corner.

I actually emailed them ([email protected]) to inquire about the Bridal Spa Party and I just received a reply that if I'd like to book, I can do so via email.

Hope this helps!

I did e-mail about paying the deposit in a month and she said that it was totally ok! I was impressed I received 2 e-mails from her in 1 day...pretty sure thats some sort of record haha!!!

For those of you getting the Tangerine package (aka the most expensive one) I would make sure you double check how many guests are included in the dinner! I know the package states up to 35 guests for everything else, but on the wedding package info sent to me from the WC it states 3 hour private dinner (for up to 25 guests) so you may still be paying extra for anyone over 25...not 35....so just be care ful there!!!

Sunny, I think you're right...from your pictures it looks like it was one type of drink as opposed to one cocktail per person.

Awesome! Thanks for the e-mail JRM I just sent them an e-mail...hoping they have a good response!! I am worried because the WC keep telling me I won't know the time of my wedding until like 2 weeks prior...kind of makes it hard for the Spa to prepare seeing as how the wedding can happen anytime between 11 and 6...ugh so frustrating!!! I am going to be soooo incredibly angry if the wedding is any time before 2 pm...ideally I would like 4pm...so fingers crossed thats what I get!!

Good morning everyone!

so I got a couple answers from Lianny yesterday and I thought I would share the info...

  • Tropical Pictures offers the photo booth service for 1 hour for $350. They give guests the hardcopy pictures.
  • DJ is $488 for 3 hours and doesnt includes lights or MC.
  • The cocktail hour is $12 per person for drinks and canapes. It is not limited to 1 drink per person but one type of drink.
  • If you want to extend the reception time, it will be $15 per person per hour.
  • She told me that the spa cant be reserved until a month before the wedding. So Im going to go ahead and call the spa directly.

Question - Does someone have a good travel agency in the NY area? Or online? I have tried to put the group package together with 3 different agencies and they are taking forever. (more than a month).

Thanks!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
