Any curly hair brides?

Recommended Posts

I also have naturally curly hair and whenever I go down south the humidity wrecks havoc on my curls. On my wedding day, I'm planning on wearing my hair half up...I'm going to have the sides pined up and have ringlets frame my face. I'm going to have someone curl my hair with a curling iron. I don't need a curling iron to obtain curls but I think it will ensure that I don't have frizzy hair and keep it in place. I'm also going to buy a really good setting product to help fight frizz.

These are some of my hair inspiration pics. I hope this helps.

I have REALLY curly hair too. I think i might just wear it loosely up.

You could definitly have someone straighten it out and than do any updo really. Normally for any event I straighten my hair but Ryan loves the curls and I dont want to look to to different from who I am on my wedding day.

I say Rock the curls. half up or loosley all up would be the way I would go if I were you :)

thank you! most days i would argue with you, but i was pretty happy with how my hair turned out. no way was i going to attempt doing my own hair - that was the one thing i knew i'd pay $$ for! i also had a trial, which helped put me at ease - i've been in so many weddings and hated how it turned out, but this girl did a good job, i thought. she really listened to what i wanted, and kept referring back to the picture i brought. my hair is horrible in humidity - but i had so much product in, it wasn't too bad!

I have very curly hair that loves to frizz ... but I straighten it daily. At the beach, I have to wear it curly since it won't stay straight. For the wedding ... I plan to wear it up. My hairdresser here always does a phenomenal job pinning up the curls ... so I'm going to take some pics with me and hope for the best. I'm going to do the trial run beforehand to ensure the hairdresser and I are on the same page (wish my girl could go with me ... then I know my hair would rock!).

Here's a pic of it up, but I don't have bangs anymore. You can't really tell about the pinned up curls ... but hopefully it gives you an idea (The back looks a bit similar to Ann's ... but my hairdresser used an iron to set all the curls, then pin them up).

And a TON of hairspray!!!

oh yea - the girl that did my hair spent a good couple of hours taking a curling iron to my hair. and maybe 5 bottles of hairspray. lol i don't have nice, smooth curls naturally! here are some pics of the in-process look. i had really wanted to wear it part down, but was so afriad i'd be too hot - and i think i made the right choice for me, i would have been sooo hot!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
