Considering a "Welcome Cruise" for guests. Anyone have vendor website suggestions?

Recommended Posts

Thought I would update since my last post on here in October...  We have decided to do a snorkel cruise through Jaital Tours also.  We wanted to do something special, but as inexpensively as we could, so we are going with the "Snorkeling and Beach Adventure" excursion that they offer.  It includes round trip transportation from our resort to Ochos Rios where we get on a boat and sail the Ochos Rios coastline and then snorkel for around 45 minutes.  Then they sail over to Margaritaville where they drop us off and we hang out there as long as we want and then they take us back to our resort.  We got a group rate of $32 p/p.  I think it will be really fun!!

Sounds like you got a great price sunstarsmoon!  I was hoping to do the catamaran with snorkelling and Dunn's River Falls as well! I tried contacting Jaital, but after 3 emails I still had no response.  I finally got one the other day and was quoted $79 per person for the private trip with 16-20 people! It seemed really expensive seeing as that price is even higher than what is quoted on their website!

Did you have to bargain with them to get that rate?  I'm still surprised that it is so different!

Hope that makes sense. I also requested just the cruise and snorkle not stopping at Dunn's Rivers Falls.

my quote is pretty high because at the time I contacted them there was only about 16 of us. so the  quote was 66.00 per person, then I requested food to be served as well so thats an additional 10.00 per person. I will be contacting them early January for an updated quote and be booking them at that time. (wedding is in July 2011)

Hope that is of some help to you

BusyBee123,  alot has changed since my original comments.  I was ready to book with them, sent an email and everything was okay, Then I got an email stating that my time, day and price was no longer available.  I tried phoning them but could not get thru kept getting an insurance company in the US. Finally after about a week of waiting for emails they phoned me. My new quote was insane I can't even remember but it was so expensive and I had to change it to the next day.

Anyways I did find another company,  we have rented speed boats and they customize the excursion to your needs. And it was soooooooo much cheaper and 3 hours not 2.

Here is the name of the company

they respond to my emails almost right away or within a few hours.  I had rented 2 boats but just yesterday cancelled one as my guest list is not as big and I am able to use the deposit from the 2nd boat towards another excursion for FI and I.

Wow sunstarsmoon!  That is quite a change in plans!  I was having a really difficult time with Jaital, having to email them at least 3-4 times before getting a response! I kept wondering how you had had such a pleasant experience and still gotten a good price!

I tried emailing jamaica cruse excursions as well about a week ago and never heard back! Perhaps I will try them again!  I get the feeling it would be so much easier just to book from there, but I really want to be able to print it on my thank you letters for my OOT bags!  Hopefully something will work out!

Thanks so much for the update! I appreciate it!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
