Paradisus Punta Cana (PPC) Brides POST HERE!!

Recommended Posts

Ive been going back and forth between hotels and im considering ppc. I just have a some questions I hope someone can answer:

Do you have to pay an outside photographer fee? If so, how much is it?

How privatized are the reception areas included in the packages?

also, ive seen a calculator here but what does it exactly do? I've tried opening it but i don't have the required amount of posts to be able to :(

hope someone can help!

Thanks in advance :)

Outside Photographer fee is $125 but I have heard of it being more expensive at other resorts.

Depends on where you want to do your reception. We are doing our poolside terrace and they assure that it is private.

The calculator is for people that want to a la carte mainly. Do you want me to send you some info if I can? If so send me over your email address

I am paying $120 for a day pass for my videographer. Because my photographer is also a friend and guest at the resort there is no fee. If you use the resorts photographers then there is no charge. I think you can negotiate this depending on your situation. :)

I am also doing the Poolside reception and because the pool is closed by that time, its private although you cant really control people that decide to walk around and check things out. The beach at night is also fairly quiet but again random guests of the hotel may walk by out of curiosity but i think you would get that at any resort.

The calculator is if you want additional things added to the packages or if you want to not use a package and pick things a la carte like deesanders33 said below :)

I have been to PPC and have to say that of all my travels (i have travelled a lot) that PPC was the nicest resort i have been to which is why we chose to get married there.

Also the coordinators are fabulous and very accomodating.

Good luck!

Hi Ladies,

Thanks, Miss Sunshyne, for info re: the newly remodeled RS rooms. The sitting area still looks really uncomfortable, but I doubt we'll be there much anyway. Thanks for the tips about the steps ;-)

We had our planning calling with Lauren the other day. I have not been impressed with her and our meeting only solidified that point, but she at least got us [most of] the information we needed. She sent me menus today and there were only two buffet options with Chill Out Chic. Has anybody else seen anything different or been able to negotiate something better?  Neither option is bad, but I am surprised at the lack of variety.

Also, do you convert most of your cash into DOP before going down there or do you tip in USD and stuff? Lauren mentioned that, by law, folks aren't supposed to accept USD. How did you pay for activities, tips, etc. (I assume DOP, but want to confirm)?

Thanks!!

I have no idea who Lauren is or have ever heard of her....hmmm maybe if you complain and ask for a different WC? I know from my experience with Teresa and from what i hear from other brides (like Miss Sunshyne)  Jennifer is fantastic as well.

I have always tipped and brought USD with me. I have never converted.

I had about 5 menus to choose from! i was even able to add and change a few things to my selection to accomodate guests with allergies or dietary restrictions.

I can always give you Teresa's email so you can maybe ask her some questions

Ok PPC ladies I have a question for you. Are you going with the resort photog or bringing your own in? We are holding our reception on la barcaza wedding boat so I also want the photographer to join us there. Any feedback or suggestions are appreciated!

I am bringing my own photog. IMO the resort photographer is very over priced for the amount of pics you get

There are a LOT of options! beach, garden, poolside, private gabi beach, several restaurants and they also have banquet halls.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
