Hi Bre. I just replied to your thread about your dress, but hey - you deserve a welcome as well! :)

I love EDR, I really do. I was there earlier this year and think it's such a gorgeous resort. And Wow, Matt and Sol - great photographer choice too! They're fantastic!

Congratulations, and welcome to the forum.

Hi ladies,

thanks so much for the warm welcome!!!

We are really excited about The EL Dorado. We stayed there in May for a "research" trip and fell in love. Can't wait to get back, especially because it means it will be time for the big day!

Hi Annie,

Matt mentioned that. I do know some french. My Mom is french canadian too (french is her first language) so she'll be enough to impress for all of us. Good tip though!

Welcome to the forum Bre :)

Hi Bre,

Just a heads up...I was told that Sol is really great but has a really weird foot fetish...I guess they like to take lots of pictures of feet! I was also told that they have you sign a contract that states they can use your pictures anywhere they want (ie. an advertisement in their brochure or on their website). Just wanted to pass that along. Happy planning!

Hi Bre, I just noticed that you were getting married at the El Dorado. Have you mentioned to them that you are bringing your own photographer? Not to scare you but I think I read somewhere on here that they charge $500 to bring your own photographer unless you are paying for a 3 night stay for them. Just something you might want to look in to.

That's not an uncommon practice of photographers. That's what brings in new business to the photographer - them showcasing their work on the web & in adverts. My clients love when they are featured on my site / blog / print ads.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
