I'm so glad that things are going smoothly for you!!  Are they charging you to put on your chair bows and such?  (I thought you posted that you were bringing them?)  Hows the beach?

So happy for you!

I did that and freaked myself out...I'm still worried about Saturday but the weather has been beautiful since we arrived when according to my phone and the weather channel it's thundering non-stop. The clouds have rolled in but it's almost nice to have a little relief from the sun. It's extremely hot (think two showers or more a day hot) and I'm hoping I get through Saturday without being a dripping mess before some good photos! Lol! We met all the vendors and our coordinator with all our multiple suitcases of decor this morning and although people looked at us like we were insane for lugging it all with us, I can't tell you how amazing our coordinator is!! She saw that I had organized it all for her and we went over every detail so there's no misunderstandings!! Four hours later I can finally breathe and relax and realize I'm on vacation! I think my FI saw the stress leave my shoulders! Now if I can catch up on sleep be good to go!! Lol

One more question-- if you happen to go to the Mega store or Walmart, could you let me know if they have things like mason jars, candles, vases etc? I'm leaving next Fri and I am so stressed about centerpieces.  I was going to take lanterns that I bought but am rethinking that because they are going to be hard to pack. I was hoping I might be able to get something there..

Hi girls...I haven't had time to go to Mega or Walmart but from previous trips I think they have premium liquors...I don't honestly know about centerpieces ingredients since I lugged all mine down here. I'm sure just walking around town you could find things though. Today's the big day for us and my FI has gone fishing! I've been calm and relaxed but the butterflies or nerves and excitement are creeping in! Lol! The sun is out so I'm hoping it stays there!! If I have time I'll try and get to Mega or Walmart and scope out centerpiece options.

I saw on the website that the max amount of people for the ceremony and reception is 80....Does anyone know how strict they are on this?  I saw this AFTER I sent emails to over 95 people.  Oops!

Good luck BillandStina! Glad the sun is shining for you!

Hi Ladies!

It's been a while since I have posted and I have less than 4 months to go.  I am starting to panic, I dont have bridesmaid dresses picked yet and only have half started my OOT bags and centerpieces! Yikes! Time to get my bum in gear!

I just have a quick question that maybe one of you lovely people can help me with becasue Elsa hasn't gotten back to me yet.  We are doing our legal wedding ceremony here at home before we leave (not at our house, but in Red Deer) and so when we are in Mexico it will be a "symbolic ceremony" but still technically our wedding. It will be the date we use as our anniversary and everything, of course.  Since it will not be a civil ceremony I was just wondering if any of you know if we have to pay the extra $600 to have a commissioner, JP or Minister present?  I have been reading in some other forums that it's not required for a symbolic ceremony as we will just be exchanging our vows, and that we could have someone (a close family friend) do the speaking of the ceremony.

I have emailed Elsa to ask her about this situation and haven't received any replies so I was wondering what your opinions are or if any of you have dealt with this situation before?

Thanks girls,

Amie

It depends on what package you get...ironically the "free" package includes a JP and I believe the others you have to pay. I'm sure you could have a family friend "preside" over the ceremony if its just symbolic. We qualified for the free JP and she was fabulous...especially because we secretly did the legal stuff at home first. Everything in Mexico looked legit though and she even had us sign a certificate so our guests didn't know that it was the symbolic ceremony and we'll have a secret anniversary and a "real" anniversary (our Mexican ceremony) date! Good luck! (Also Elsa takes quite a while to respond...and that's putting it nicely...so if you have questions feel free to ask)

Hi Girls!  Does anyone know how strict the resort is on outside vendors?  I'm looking into an external vendor for bridesmaid bouquets and center pieces but I know the resort policy states no external vendors or they will charge $350 extra! madness! wondering if there's any way to meet the vendor outside of the resort and bring them in myself with some help to avoid having to pay...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
