Is anyone out there bringing their own decorations to "dress up" the ceremony/reception area for their wedding? If so, what do you plan on bringing?

I know alot of you are bringing your own bouquets, but i wondered what else you all planned on bringing. Was there anything you wanted to bring but your WC told you couldnt?

Just trying to get an idea of what we can bring ourselves to help customize it even more :-)

Thanks Ladies!

  • 2 weeks later...

We are going with the BB package since none of their packages really match our colors, so yes, we will bringing some of our own decor (I should say *I* instead of *we* since FI could care less about decor, lol). I'm not sure exactly what we are bringing yet, but I'm thinking some real touch flowers for the tables or the cermeony, and maybe some candles for the dinner tables as well. And I'd like fuchsia bows for the chairs during the cermony as well. Other than that, I'm not sure......

We're doing the BB package.  I think we're going to bring fans and I'll have a friend or family member put them on all the chairs at the wedding, and then I have small favors each place-setting at the reception.  Soooo many brides say that everything around you at the resort is so beautiful you won't need much as far as decorations at all... I'd just bring a few things to personalize it a little.

I'm also doing the BB - I was considering bringing candle holders and candles for the additional tables - but I'm not even sure if I'm going to do that anymore since we are only have the mini reception I doubt anybody will even notice, plus the scenry is amazing so that will be our decor. Then again, I still have time to do what I do best....change my mind blush2.gif

I am getting married in Riveria Maya ASP, not Sandles. They have packages that come with some decor, but I wanted more so I am bringing

For centerpieces: 35 real touch white Cali Lillys, 5 glass vases for the flowers
(At my hotel it is over $100 per centerpiece, per table, I only need 4 but am bring 5 incase one breaks on the flight)

For Tables:12 Voltaire Candles/Holders (3 per table) & Fake Diamonds to sprink on the tables

Plate Decor: 30 Starfish

Sky Decor:50 White Hanging Lanterns
(They wanted 350 to rent these)

We are taking a seperate suitcase down for all this stuff. Both of our parents also offered to carry stuff. I think you can just give it to your WC once you are down there. Otherwise I'll put them in a room closet or something.

You wont be able to bring any real floral, customs will confiscate it :-( and you cant take any floral back home with you either :-(

i have heard that you can bring preserved floral though, so im thinking ill bring preserved petals for the aisle/tables.

my biggest concern with the resort is the floral. i fear that they wont have the right colors or wont be ablet o do what i want them to do. and i wont even get to see it until i get there the day of my wedding! i seriously considered bringing real touch floral- but with all the flowers that i want it would be crazy to bring all of that on the plane- so im back to hoping and praying that the resort can get the floral just right!!

Did anyone else ask for specific floral requests? Were you pleased with what you got?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
