Jen1407, I didn't think that we actually heard from or spoke to the WC until a month or two prior to the wedding. I'm curious as to what everyone is speaking to them so much earlier about. Can you elaborate the types of things you spoke with her about so early?

I only started talking to Chandlyn in May - just 2 months before our wedding. The only thing I did in February when we booked our trip is book the salon appointments with Renova spa.

Most of the questions we had came down to how much things cost so we could create our budget. We spoke with Chandlyn about the private dinner reception vs the poolside reception, renting the disco for a private reception before it opens to the public, contact information for the florist they use to upgrade our flowers, reserving space for our rehearsal dinner. It may be a bit excessive to worry about this stuff so early but I would hate to leave it and not be able book it. Bit of a control freak I know, you should ask my FI LOL!! My FI and I have never been away on a vacation so we are not sure what to expect. And to think our first trip away will be for our wedding - some would say we are crazy LOL!!! but we have always talked about going away to get married. The less stress I have to deal with in Dec/Jan the better so I figured why wait.

Thanks for the information. I guess I'm much more laid back with this since it's my second wedding (his first). I figure I will go with the flow of things but I guess it's a good idea to inquire about the rehearsal dinner and schedule with the spa. We are having an AHR one week after we return so that is where more of my worries will come into play I presume.

Thanks girls!

I too have been a little stressed after reading some of the negative reviews about the change in WC. However I havent made any set plans for the ceremony, reception and flower, or extra yet.  We are still about 3 months away from our date.  I am hoping that within the next month i will be able to start planning that.

Past brides...when the WC contacts u, to start putting together actual details about the ceremony, reception and flower and such, is there some kinda formal form u fill out so that they know everything that you want, or is just via emails back and forth, just shooting off what you want? I just want to feel secure that they are recording my requests, as i send them through email...any insight is much appreciated :)

Unfortunately it was done all on email.  I itemized my emails and made my own lists though and it was a huge help when I got to the ROR and had the meeting with Antoniette.  I can't stress enough how important it is to bring all email correspondence, especially  if you dealt with Chandlyn.

I was so surprised that we were deciding things the day before the wedding and everything was perfect on the wedding day.  I am such a planner but I had to reign it all in and go with the flow because it was really out of my hands until we got to the resort.

Good luck!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
