They gave away my wedding date! ( Rant)

Recommended Posts

No response as of yet, not that I really expected one so soon.

After discussing things with my FI I've kinda resolved myself to changing the wedding date. If it comes right down to it I don't care about the date itself at all, it's more the fact that they made a commitment and I have acted based on that commitment and for them to go back on it bothers me more than anything else.

We will figure something out with respect to the invitations but the situation still sucks.

Don't get me wrong I'm not going to back down on my stance with the hotel, someone screwed up. Not going to assign personal blame to anyone, however this is all very not cool and I will not be fobbed off with a 'a mistake was made and we're changing your date now' e-mail because that simply isn't good enough.

I've e-mailed them copies of the contract and confirmation I recieved. Not much else I can do till they get back to me I guess.

Thanks so much for all the support it's meant alot and I do appreciate it. :)

Oh my I"m so sorry your going through this. Maybe you could ask for a different time on the 19th if they already booked your date and time. GOODNESS It's all very frustrating. If everyone booked their tickets, I hope they are still there on the 20th if that is your day. If not... that is when I would have trouble. If everyone is still there, I wouldn't worry about reprinting the invites. Only because it's vacation... everyone is free to do whatever... whenever : ) Stay positive! Maybe ask for some money off of your wedding plan. Just a thought!

Everytime I read this thread it just makes me so mad. Our date was picked for a very specific reason (it was my late grandfather's birthday, and he and I were very close) and if something like this happened to me I would be in tears. Changing the date is just not an option for us. It would literally mean changing resorts for us. And for them to just send an email and be so casual about it just infuriates me. I'm really happy for you that it doesn't sound like you were super attached to your date, but how would the resort know that or not? For all they know that could have been your anniversary or something ya know? Even if you do agree to change your date, I really hope they do something to compensate you....severly discounted wedding package, a couple nights of your reservations credited back...something.....you definitely deserve it.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
