Hello Ladies..

Congrats to you all.

My name is LaToya and my sweetie Curtis and I have been together and committed for 3yrs. This man of logic and reason came to me this week and said I want us to set our DW planning in motion and kissed me........ A bit backwards/nontraditional I know, but I understand what that meant and I'm ecstatic. I have been setting up a great argument for a Destination Wedding, he's on board so now we settle on a place

Projected date is sometime between Feb 2011 and Aug 2011 I must research rates and weather before settling

My hearts choice is Negril Jamaica on the cliffs in the West End but I fear it will be too expensive and too far for our guest. I'm now researching the closer maybe more affordable spots in Mexico like Isla Mujeres, and Cancun, . A close Mexican friend strongly recommended Zihuatanejo and Ixtapa I trust her suggestions but I can't find any up to date info or pictures of the area... I need guidance :-0

I think my first order of business is to find a travel agent, any recommendationshuh.gif

Overall we want a stress free experience, yet an unforgettable one for us and all our guest.. I hope we're not asking for too much.

Looking forward to learning and navigating through this journey with you ladies

Welcome and congratulations LaToya!!! I can only imagine how happy you are with his comment of setting it into motion! We are getting married at Grand Palladium Kantenah in Riviera Maya, Mexico. I have a friend who was married there a few years ago so I've seen great pictures and my MOH was actually at that wedding too.

Regarding TA's... I had previously been working with a TA from a local company and felt like I was getting a lot of bad information, or no information at all. On Monday (of this week) I decided to submit my information on here and work with a BDW TA. I was contacted by TA Wendy, and I actually just posted a tread on the travel forum to say how great she is and how much I already love her! Depending on your location, you will get certain BDW TA's that specialize in that area... but I certainly recommend one of the ladies on here. You can go over to the travel forum to get some information on different TA's.

Happy planning! This site is so helpful!

Welcome to the forum! It's so much fun and I rarely miss a day going through all the posts.

I hear a lot of great things about the BDW travel agents.

I found my travel agent in my home town, she specializes in destination weddings so she was able to do more and answer more specific information than another travel agent i spoke with.

Make sure they are supportive, can answer questions about the resort and what to expect and plan for.

Have fun planning!

Hey LaToya welcome to the forum! You are definitely not asking too much and you should have the wedding of your dreams. There are lots ot TA's on the forum that will be willing and able to help you with your planning and your journey, just look under the Travel section. Also, check out the Mexico boards and see what you find there, because there is tons of info about a lot of different resorts in that region. I hope that your planning continues to go well. Everyone on here is friendly and very helpful. Good luck and happy planning!

Oh!! Thank you soo much..

I wondered how the BDW travel agents were selected for the brides, that seems like a logical set up... I will definitely read your travel post, and submit my info for an agent through BDW. I will also research your location GPK, as I have not heard of them before and those are usually the best ones.

Thanks for the advice and welcome......Happy Planning

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
