Does anyone worked with Arrecife Studio before?

Recommended Posts

I actually asked them for pricing info since my photographer wont be able to make it and they did not have packages designed with specific prices. The only thing they told me was that the minimum is 35 pictures @ $15 each. They would not say whether they are printed, in a digital format, or both. So, no clue about their cost. Any feedback anyone? Thank you :)

WOW! 35x $15 that's  525 $  huh.gif over 500 $ for 35 pictures..That's incredible!

pay the fee, and take an photographer from outside!

one example, I paid 1000 $ and I received over 500 photos on a DVD in high-resolution and Printed Pictures and a Wedding Book  msnwink.gif

I agree, it seems like they take great photos. However when I contacted them about prices they were very cryptic. They basically told me that they will tell me the package prices after they have taken the pictures. Ummmm no.....at that time I wont have a choice but to purchase them at a million bucks! It's ridiculous!

Flores , do not accept that!

That's a incredible business policy. thatswck.gif

Why do you not take a photograph from outside?

Punta Cana has a lot of good photographers.

Pay the fees and you know what you have :)

I don't know how this works with other resorts, but Arrecife has some deal with Gran Bahia Principe Bavaro where, no matter whether they work or not, they end up getting your money anyway.

I did not like Jackie, the person sitting at the desk when you arrive at their office. She is somewhat polite and well mannered, which does not make up for her lack of listening skills and logic reasoning:

A few months before the wedding I emailed one of the wedding coordinators to ask whether they would let my friend take my pictures. He is my best friend, a guest, and this was his wedding present to me. The coord. said as long as it was a hotel guest it would be fine.

Jackie said no. The only way they would waive the $500 fee for letting someone with a professional or semiprofessional camera take pictures at the ceremony is if I can show (with a passport or some other document) that this person is related to me by blood.

She actually said if they saw someone with a professional or semiprofessional camera there they would stop the ceremony and ask the person to put the camera away. She also said if I found the email my wedding coord. sent the most that could happen is she would get yelled at, but I would still have to pay. I had to ask my friend not to take his camera out (that was heartbreaking). At the end of the ceremony we were leaving and my friend took some pictures at the hotel lobby. Turns out someone from Arrecife was following us around and asked my friend to put the camera away. This lady said she knew he was at that hotel for the third time, which is far from true. When I told her he was there as my guest, he was rooming with my sister, he is my best friend and this would have been his weeding present, she said I should have said something. She allowed my friend to take pictures at the end when the ceremony, the most important piece, was already over.

I could have paid the $500 and be done with it, but I chose not to out of principle. don't think it is right for Arrecife to keep my money when they did no work at all.

I just took my 10 pictures included in the package and called it a day.

The photographer, willy, was very nice and courteous. The pictures themselves were OK. Nothing extraordinary.

I am just really hurt that their lack of communication actually ruined my special day and left me with no wedding pictures from my best friend. Booooo to Arrecife.

Oh wow, I'm so sorry to hear that sebitasalejo but thank you so much for sharing your story. I have contacted them this evening to get a little reassurance from them that they will not be telling my sisters who fancy themselves photographers with their fancy SLR cameras - to put them away.

Im very sorry to hear those things of  them  but  Im  desagree =)  I  LOVE  ARRECIFE STUDIO`S  WEDDING PICTURES  !!!!  they  were a major part in the best day of our lives!  Willy  took   breath taking photos , they look so perfect and naturals  .  We were so impressed with their  professional, get fun work ethic. The photographs they  took were so perfect and lovely that is still takes our breath away when we look at them.

Im so happy  with their work  and so lucky to choose them , to portrayed  our  wedding day in their pictures , my best friend  is getting married in April  , first she was thinking in take  one of the photographers out side but as soon as she looked at  my wedding pictures she felt in love .

About prices do not have to be scared for the minimum of 35 for US$ 500.00 ,   this is only the basic package then when they know the amount of pictures they took , they make very good package , for me was not expensive  , and I m not a millionare

Good Luck  !!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
