Did they give you any special deals on the food or the cocktail/hors d'oeuvre hour?Do you think they would swap the photographer for longer videography? Did they throw in anything at all for free and if so what items. I am going with the Divine package also but like the eternity food better. What did they charge you for downgrade the food? Also it states in this package you get corsages for the maid of honor and bridesmaid but did you find out anything about a bridesmaid bouquet and what they look like? Any help or advice would be appreciated as i am right in the middle of the quote process.

Thanks again and I hope you post lots of pics after the wedding?
we are having 25 guests so we did not have to pay for extra plates luckely!!

I dont see why she wouldnt extend the video instead of having a photographer. Its like she took the $600 used to pay for the photographer and instead paid the caribbean trio, so im sure she could do the same for the video guy. I did make sure she put a note on the quote about that too!

Oh i wrote that wrong, we are doing the eternity package and upgraded to the divine food, sorry. she charged $5 pp

I have gotten a reply. There is another couple who are having about 70 people. But I can still have mine but the location of the cocktail hr and reception is what i'm trying to pull the answer from her about. She keeps telling me I can use Pure for cocktail and reception but she won't tell me if i'm able to play our own music and have a place to dance. I've asked 2 times already. And I don't want to be mean about it. So i'm just going to have to ask again and have my TA ask her too. She sent me a few pictures of Pure and it's nice but if we can't have a real reception then I'll have to change my date. Which sucks so bad.
I'm trying to stay away from week day wedding because most people are coming for the weekend which means they are not taking that many days off from work. Also my son will be going with us for the whole time. He is the main reason we chose the time we were having the wedding because he will be off from school for a week during that time. and the next time he will have that much time off from school is in April...and no I don't want to push my wedding back another 3 months!!! lol I'm ready to go NOW!!!!

I am a fan on facebook. I think I will ask the question up there just to make sure. But TA Jill got the answer for me last night. So yeah we can play music and dance. That's really all I wanted to know. I'm not real picky of the location at the resort so it doesn't matter that it will be at the fountain. But I did want a real reception...with music and dancing, alot of fun. I'm just so happy I don't have to change my date!!

A few answers-

Hey girls-I've been reading through some of the latest posts and can give you a few answers-my wedding is in 3 months-so alot of this stuff I've already worked out with Pilar.

Chair Bows - to get through the hotel she quoted me $5 each. If you bring your own-you will still be charged a $1 per bow "ironing" fee

Bridesmaid Bouquet - the devine package does not come with bouquets-just corsages. I'm actually keeping the corsages and giving them to each mom-and I went ahead and ordered bouquets. I believe she charged me $69. They are not big at all. If you have that big packet of information with all the different options-the closest thing to them is the "Your Moments" bouquet section-only they will be smaller than that.

Free Stuff - She's not too quick to just give stuff away-but I did notice that she is not charging me for the extra 25 guests at the cocktail reception-just for the hor deorves. (I have 50 guests coming-but only 25 are included in the devine package). I assume it's because the bar will already be open-so the number of guests doesn't really matter-but the food is something that will have to be ordered for a specific number of people.

Substitutions - I was able to swap out the photographer for the caribbean trio with no problem-but I have read on here and gotten an email about one of you trying to swap the photographer for the videographer with no luck. I don't know why she wouldn't allow this-especially since I assume they use the same vendor for photography and videos. I would just keep pushing the request with her. Ask her specifically why it has been denied. She has been fairly open to my requests for swaps-and has also been open to suggestions about flowers (all while trying to stay within the same devine package price).

Let me know if you guys have any other questions.

Thanks Tracy for your comments. She did agree to swap the photographer for 2 hours of videography but the email was kind of confusing. What did she tell you was included in the divine package videography? She told me just the ceremony so about 30 minutes of video. i am assuming that i will get another 2hours on top of that so 2.5hours but wasn't sure by the email. I will have to talk to her. FYI Sandra is back also. Both ladies keep sending me wrong quotes and it's a little frustrating but i guess we have to be patient.

Do you know if they will allow you to purchase your own flowers from an external vendor and have them delivered to the hotel?

She didn't charge for the cocktail drink hour for me either but i was told they don't anyway. So much for thinking we got a deal from them lol I tried to get them to throw in the sound equipement free of charge but that hasn't worked yet either. Still trying though!!

Yeah-I think she told me the videography is only 30 minutes and is basically just the ceremony. I would assume if she swapped it for you and their typical reception for the devine package is 2 hours-the videographer would be there the whole time-but I would ask. I've learned to get pretty specific with my questions. I'm going to bring all of our correspondence with me just in case she tries to tell me she didn't agree to something we talked about.

I'm not sure about the flowers coming from an external vendor-but I would be curious to find out! We are paying a ton of money for the flowers as it is now. If I could find a florist nearby and have them delivered-I could probably do all the same stuff for half the price. I'll email her about it. She's actually been responding to my emails pretty quickly these days.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
