For all you Key WEst brides out there...how are you planning to get to Key west? Are you flying directly there or flying to Miami and driving? I would love to take the drive from Miami to Key west, but I also don't want to spend two whole days traveling. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

We flew into Miami and made the drive over, mainly due to the fact we had a ton of frequent flier miles and by doing that it was essentially free. But the fun thing we did on the way home was took a week-long mini-moon, our honeymoon was a couple months later. We took the entire week after our wedding to hop along the Keys on our way back to our flight in Miami. We stayed in Key Largo and Islamorda and went fishing and diving and just lounging on the beach. I thought it was a blast!

Thanks ladies. I have always wanted to makethe drive from Miami to Key West, so I think we have decided to fly into Key West since we want to get there before most of our guests arrive but leave from Miami so we can take our time driving from Key West to Miami and make some stops along the way. I think driving to Key West I would be too eager just to get there to enjoy it like I want to. Thanks for the advice.

You will love the drive :) so beautiful!! Me and my FI live in Northwest Florida and are flying into Miami, spending the night, then getting up the next day for the beautiful drive to Key West. We decided to do this for a few reasons.

One, this was the first trip we made as a newly dating couple (the trip we fell in love)

Two, the week we will be down in Key West is going to be crazy, it will be our last few moments to be alone before everyone arrives so the drive is going to be our "Last Date" as dating couple :) cheesy I know, But we felt it was important to have those moments before our friends and family arrive :)

Three, I have a really good friend that is coming up for my Bachelorette that lives in South Florida that has offered to take my decor that I am bring from home back with her and meet us is Miami for us to take with us! Score!!! I dont have to worry about items breaking on the plane or having to pay for extra luggage :)!!

We will be flying out of Key West to Miami, then leaving from Miami to LA, then LA to Maui for our Honeymoon in Hawaii :), the flights will be so long, but so worth it!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
