Tris , I'm sorry that your friend is denying the inevitable and not responding. I think that would probably hurt the most especially when you seem so close. I know you weren't really thinking she would be able to attend, but she should have tried to at least be supportive.

Lisa, I hope you're not too tired today after being up so late last night. I know some of that stuff can be addictive. I can't wait to see the changes you made.

If anyone else wants the publisher template for my labels, let me know and I can post it here.

Wow, it seems like all of us are having some sort of problems...  thankfully mine have been relatively minor in the whole picture compared to some of the other ladies out there.  Tris, I'm so sorry to hear about your situation.  There is nothing good about it and it stinks because your friend is so far away that you can't really talk to her outside of email or facebook....  I hope she can at least acknowledge the email...  I don't even know what else to say....

        Francine -- I LOVE your dress! :)

Invite problem solved. FI is totally on my side - thank goodness! and agrees that we're only going to add "saturday" with the date, our phone # with the rsvp and then instead of 5-10pm... something like "cocktails at 5pm followed by dinner at 7pm" ... there was also a part about it being in the lower level of the hall that FMIL wanted me to include but we're going to include a map to the location anyway so we're just going to mention lower hall on the map. :) FMIL doesn't know about our changes and she's not going to until she gets it in the mail, and that's that!!! :) haha

OH! and it only took 4 weeks, but my key card holders FINALLY arrived from Hong Kong!!!!! :)  now I just need to make and print off the inserts (i snagged some avery badge paper from my office so i won't have to worry about cutting them out - score!)

I also started sewing my rehersal/AHR dress last night!!! It's pretty daunting so far and I can't see how the little pieces are going to become a dress, but I'm staying hopeful and doing just a little bit each night.

Laura that sounds like a great compromise! It's so great that your FI had your back!

Laura, I'm glad FI was on your side and that you didn't have to make too many changes!  Sounds like you are really getting things done too!

Yeah....I  feel the same way. We are having only family at our wedding in DR. My girls are putting on an a shower and a stagette for me at the end of this month but it's so disappointing that none of them can come. My MOH was in tears when she told me she couldn't come. Also....after reading a bunch of threads I know I'm not alone in the MIL drama....or my own family drama in regards to this. My FI and I have only been engaged since Dec and getting married in April - we've been talking about going away to get married for YEARS. Last summer we told our family to start saving as we'll have a quick engagement....but I guess they thought we weren't serious - My own mother has been the worst about costs etc (this is the woman who was thinking of going to Australia this april if I didn't get married. the FLIGHT ALONE to OZ is about the same cost all in pp for our wedding) - she's complained so much that I've told her that if it costs too much she doesn't have to come - then complained to my sisters that I told her not to come

FI & I had an awesome meeting with our photographer today. She's incredible. I love her. She has a friend who shot a wedding in Jamaica and he gave her tons of pointers & ideas. Her plan for our TTD involves a full day of pretty much touring the island. We're going to the other side (South Side) where there is a gorgeous waterfall that isn't as touristy as the ones nearby the resort, and maybe getting some horse pics, then driving around to Negril to some gorgeous beaches... from 10am to sunset the day after. I'm so pumped. It's awesome to see her so excited too! It puts me at such ease.

44 days until we leave. Craziness. I'm trying to get all of my design stuff done but I always end up working on my freelance projects and my OWN wedding projects are falling behind! Ahh!! The biggest "waiting game" I'm playing is that I can't print or finish anything really until I hear from my one friend. I know I posted it about it MONTHS ago but my BEST FRIEND moved to Australia on a whim with her BF for a year or so. Well they've extended their trip and even though she said she'd be at my wedding no matter what when I asked her to my BM, things changed quickly. I doubt she's going to come. Like 99.9% sure she won't be there. She already pretty much told me they can't afford it because they're traveling around, which is understandable, whatever, I'm sad, but I'm over it... the issue is that she is avoiding it because she doesn't want to hurt my feelings and let me down. I told her the VERY latest she needed to tell me was a month before we left (March. 23rd). If she was any other guest it wouldn't hold anything off, but because she's supposed to be my BM (I have her dress hanging in my closet and everything), I can't print the programs, I can't buy my BM gifts, etc. Ugh. Fun!

I don't know... nothing to do with the above paragraph but I've been feeling pretty down lately... anyone else in the same boat? I thought I'd be super excited at this time but I'm more down in the dumps than anything. I'm just telling myself it's all the stresses building up on me and I'll get over it.

baileybride2b - next time you're in vancouver - you HAVE to go to this place called Social in Yaletown...Super trendy place that serves comfort food and cotton candy in their drinks!!!
