We are doing a symbolic ceremony and I'm wondering if anyone can help me out and let me know who officiates in this case?  We don't want anyone from our group doing it.  We'd prefer to have someone else as our guests won't know that we've already had a legal ceremony. Does Mayte do it and if so do you send your ceremony script down ahead or just give it to her down there and she reads it right off your paper...

Any answers, ideas or thoughts would be much appreciated!!

ellie0717 - my fiance and i plan to be legally married locally before and we would like a symbolic ceremony in the DR, when i mentioned this to Mayte she gave me the contact info for a Pastor York; i believe other brides on here have used him. i haven't gotten in touch with him yet, my fiance and i are 2 different religions so we definitely want something that isn't religion based. we are considering having a friend perform it but not sure yet. if you find out any more info, please share if you don't mind :)

to all jellyfish brides - my fiance and i would like to surprise our guests with having the wedding at the jellyfish. our plan was to pick a resort near the jellyfish and have that info in our invites and then on the day of wedding just have everyone meet 30 mins before the shuttle arrives in the lobby. then they would find out the wedding is actually off resort. has anyone else suprised their wedding guests with the jellyfish? if so, how did you do it?

thanks ladies!

I'm a newly engaged bride :) and we've decided on a DR wedding.  We were just about to book at Now Larimar but then I came across Jellyfish... does anyone out there have pics to share from their wedding at Jellyfish?  With 140 pages that go along with this particular forum, I didn't have a chance to scroll through all to look for links!  I saw some from the website and more on their FB page... but I was hoping to see something more recent and more detailed... and that includes the ceremony and reception.

Thank you!!

Here are some links to pics from my wedding:

We had a symbolic ceremony and hired Pastor York...  Although technically he is a pastor the ceremony is not religious.  He has different "scripts" to chose from and I'm sure he can even create something new for you and your fiance.

Mayte can help to set him up for your ceremony.  He was awesome!

There's a full thread on this forum devoted entirely to this. My ceremony script was pieced together from what I found on there... I'd post the link for you but I'm not sure how to do it from my phone. You can look on my profile and find it in my list of previous posts...

Hi ladies-

Can any past brides answer a question I have about the DJ? I think I am going to go with DJ Mannia... Is an MC included with the price they quoted or do I need to ask for this separately, or get someone from my group to MC?

My contract includes this with my quoted price:

MC

PROFESSIONAL DJ

DJ BOOTH,

SOUND SYSTEM

ROBOTIC LIGHTS

WIRELESS MICROPHONE

WHITE BALLOONS

I did not ask for anything special or for any add-ons. This was just the basic package.

    • It’s been years... and I’m now searching for the same in Montego Bay or Negril. Did anyone ever have any luck finding?
    • Hello, I'm new to this site. I got engaged already and get married by next year. I have some doubts regarding our dating destination. Hope you will help me. Thank You!
    • Hello everyone,
Well, this upcoming valentine's day is special for me because I got engaged and planning to spend the day with my fiance. I'm planning to give her an ethical jumpsuit.

Other than that I have been searching the internet for some nice discounted coupons and searched among my friends and found different sites. Now, we are looking forward to that wonderful day. We searched a lot and found out, Escape The City. Orangeville is a great place for a day trip or weekend gateway from Toronto.
Theatre Orangeville is offering a weekend package that includes 2 tickets to a Live performance at the theatre, Premium Overnight Accommodations at Best Western Plus Orangeville Inn and Suites and $75 Downtown Wine and Dine Voucher which is valid at select Downtown restaurants, and Free Entry to the scenic Trails & Bridges of Island Lake.

We are so excited and eagerly waiting for that day.
If anyone has got any other suggestions for the venue, kindly share your thoughts/ideas.
      Thank You!

    • Please tell me, the best wedding venue in Saskatoon, SK.
    • Hey everyone! Like the others here, I'm interested in wedding reception, venue and all related steps & stuff. Starting with my first and the most important note is that we're international couple and we need to think of bilingual wedding. So the first thing we need to think of is whether it will be interpretation or 2 different venue coordinators, sermons and stuff? What is your experience, what could be the best and affordable solution? From googling the issue I've found this Interactio app team ( describing possible solution here  http://blog.interactio.io/case-study-weddings )Basically they offer to hold the venue in the main language, additionally providing simultaneous interpretation online to other quest's mobile phones. Looks like really easy and creative idea. What about the others? How did you solve this kind of obstacle? Any additional advises would be very welcomed here
