Hey Ladies,

Has anyone looked into what the difference is between the Free Package and the Sunshine Package?  It seems like you're paying a lot more money for 10 pictures and turn down service.  I tried to email Chandlyn (and keep getting a response from someone named Donnalee??) but she gave me a vague answer about the difference being on the brochure...??

I just want to know if it's worth it to pay the extra $$?

When are you getting married?  They have come out with new packages for 2012 which are quite different from the current packages.

Donnalee is Chandlyn's assistant.  Chandlyn used to be the assistant to Beverly who is no longer there.

Check out this thread if you haven't already.  There is way more information and tons of recent reviews of the resort, including mine.

Hi Boots,

I am getting married at the GBP in Feb 2013 and have been emailing the WC recently to make my arrangements. The $2500 is to privatize the Dolce Vita and The Grill for evening.  I think if you have or 70 people they require you do that, but I'd have to go back through my emails to be sure.  The $25 pp is based on the guests over and above what are included with the package you chose, and there doesn't seem to be anyway around this.  Another option for your dinner and dance that I recently found out about is the Pisces, which is the restaurant down by the beach used for lunch/snacks.  It is $1700 to rent it for 4 hrs (6:30 - 10:30), they figure the first 2 hrs for dinner and the last 2 hrs for dancing, etc.  Your DJ is included for the whole 4 hrs and you have the bartender for the first 2 hrs during dinner, but you may be able to have them longer for a price, of course.

Definitely check out the thread that JayKay mentioned, there is so much information on there and it will take you a bit to go through, but it is a huge sanity saver!

Hope this helps and happy planning!!

Hi Everyone,

We are considering getting married at this resort next May 2014 but am having trouble first getting estimated costs for all the "extras" that would be required:  upgraded wedding package, cost for a private dinner/reception site, cost for a DJ for the private dinner/reception site, if there is a cost for a bit of a customized menu...

Has anyone done any of this for their wedding, and if so, was hoping you might be able to give me a ball park on the extra costs?

Also, if you did do a private dinner/reception area, what area/restaurant did you use?  I understand their is an open-air garden restaurant we could rent out for the night, or something by the pool or beach?

Muuuuch appreciated if you could pls shed some light!

Thanks!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
