Yeah, as far as Grand Palladium - their communication is horrible, up to 4 weddings a day, and they have bad reviews from travel agents and vacation companies..no thanks. I think we've narrowed it down to Iberostar Rose Hall Suites, Grand Bahia, and RIU Tropical Bay...tough choices! None of them are cheap either...

We looked at Cancun, but with the violence going on, $250-$350 in bloodwork required, 3 days in the country before wedding day, etc... too much of a hassle.

    Thoughts?

Congrats! :-) I personally have gone with Iberostar rose hall even though it is a little more expensive than some of the other resorts simply because of the reviews and pictures I saw fit very closely with what I wanted. Can't really comment on any of your other choices however I did find tripadvisor to be a great resource when making my decision, simply because buried in the reviews there are always a few weddings being done / pictures available.

Whichever way you go I hope it works out!

          Hi,

I am getting married in Jamaica in November. We are going to RIU Ocho Rios. So far things seem to be going good and they have beach, garden or gazebo spots available.
          Good Luck with the planing!!

I'm surprised about Lady Hamilton. I was just reading their website and wishing I had chosen to do my wedding there....The 3 choices you have mentioned sound really good. I'm going with the Riu Ocho Rios, but the Riu in Negril is just as good, I think Tropical Bay is more expensive than their other property though. I've been reading reviews of Rose Hall and they have great reviews and the wedding pics are nice too.

The only con to the Riu Negril from what I've read on the forum is that their prices are increasing about 45% for next year so talk with the WC about that. Also, with the RIU since they do so many wedding a day, the WC will take some time to get back to you and it can be frustrating. But i've found that I don't really have to email the WC too much because I find out most of my info on here.

I am considering Jamaica too! There are a TON of people on here getting married at Riu Ocho Rios(ROR). You should check into their resort. Good luck!
