Hi,

I'm getting married this summer in the Riviera Maya and I'm looking for my wedding dress. If anybody knows about good places to find good and affordable dresses in Toronto or the GTA I'd appreciate your advice. I dont know if there are outlets, or that kind of place around here. Another think is there anywhere in Toronto where you can find David's Bridal? I've seen some very good deals on dresses on their website but I'm terrified of ordering it online.

Thanks a lot!

THere are tons of places!! Try the Danforth.. there are lots of shops there such as Beckers 387 Danforth, one another block west of there owned by them called The Dressroom 269 Danforth, I know there are others right accross the street too, but can't remember the name. One of my BM got her dress from there off the rack for $30, regular $200!! OUr lunch cost more than her dress.

Also, there's another place at Broadview south of Danforth called the Bride's project where all the dresses are donated (new or used) from the public and bridal salons and all the proceeds go to women's cancer research... The Brides' Project - Fighting cancer, one dress at a time. They sell shoes, accessories etc as well. It is tricky to find though. It's in a house and not well marked.

Another area is on Orfus RD (where there are also lots of outlet stores like NIne west). There is a huge place called Windsor bridal (apparently Canada's largest bridal store)... I found my dress there and actually bought it from somewhere else because I found they also had the largest attitude as well! There are at least 3 other bridal stores I went into too, but I have no idea of the names.

You could also check down around Spadina in the Fashion District.

I know of one other store in Markham called Superior Bridal, my co-worker's FSIL just bought her dress from there .. as well their website is pretty good for dress ideas at least.

HOpe this helps.... wink.gif

I ended up shopping at a few places but ended up ordering my dress through BRIDAL AND BEYOND. They have a few stores in the GTA. I went to the one in Mississauga. They have a lot of Maggie Sottero dresses which are beautiful for Destination Weddings! Here's a link to their website -

Also, when I was at the Bridal Show...I learned about a new store in Mississauga specializing in Destination Weddings. They have favours, you can book travel and they even said they had dresses. I haven't been there yet but you might want to check it out. They had pretty good prices on favours...not sure about the dress selection -

DB only has stores in the US, so you should be able to drive down to one from TO. I strongly recommend making an appointment first to avoid having to wait once you get there. They do have some nice things, especially this season!

Welcome to the forum and congrats!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
