Anyone have a review of The Wedding Holiday?

I am thinking about using The Wedding Holiday to help me plan my destination wedding. From the Canadian forum, I see a few other brides have used them previously? Is anyone willing to share their thoughts on them. Did you find them helpful, not helpful? I would really appreciate hearing from you.

Thanks,

Cindy

Hi Cindy! I used the wedding holiday. I found them fine to deal with and it was nice to have the feeling of someone being in my corner if I needed them to fight for me, but remember that they aren't wedding planners. They basically just put me in contact with my resort planner and gave a couple of ideas or suggestions along the way, but other than that they really had nothing to do with my wedding besides booking my guests. They explained the process, etc, which I found helpful as I was new to travelling all together lol! I'd be happy to answer any questions you have :)

Hi Cindy,

I'm using The Wedding Holiday for my DW at the El Dorado Seaside in April. As Nicole mentioned, they are capable of doing all the bookings for your group, and their wedding coordinator works closely with your resort to work out all the details. I've had a very pleasant experience dealing with them so far, and just recently, they've opened their own DW shop where brides to be can find dresses, wedding favours and pretty much any other thing related to DWs. I kinda wish that they had the store open back when I first started planning in July, lol.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask - I'd be happy to give you info about them!

Hi Ladies, i am using The Wedding Holiday as well for my DW in Punta Cana this September. They have been great to deal with and dealt with a lot of the hotel headaches a lot the brides are complaining about, so far so good...

I used them for my wedding in May, 2010.  They were great!  Our prices for Riu Montego Bay were a little pricey, because once you lock in with them, you're locked in- no negotiating.

They were there to answer questions and were quite prompt about their responses.  Best of all, they're free!

Hi Cindy,

It may be too late to give you advice about this company, but here it goes:

We used them also for our wedding.  After we were sold on what their services were, we quickly found out it was a sales technique to lock us in for business.  Everything they offered us before we put a down payment was totally different than what we received.  They played themselves as wedding coordinators/ planners and really all they are is a travel agent who never gets back to you in any reasonable time.  An email took almost 2 weeks everytime to get answered  by them.

After being very mistreated and verbally abused by the owner of the company (I believe her name is Lorraine), she put us in contact with the real wedding coordinator at the resort.  She was very helpful but it was very hard to plan a wedding from far away.  Especially when we were mislead into thinking it would be done here with "The Wedding Holiday".

I highly dont recommend the "The Wedding Holiday".  After all was said and done we just had way more headaches and paid more money to have horrible service when we could of just got in touch with the resort ourselves and did the exact same planning.

Dont let them sell you on "if anything happens with the resort or the country we can move you to another one no problem".  Anybody can do that for you actually and after researching that the chances of that happening are like 1 in a million.

I hope your wedding goes well, after all it is your day.  Dont let these poeple ruin it for you like they did ours.

Good Luck!

I went there and had a consultation with them, wasnt too impressed. Tried to sell me, but since I had already shopped around found it was more expensive for the same thing. They were also very pressuring, they tried to sign us up for a tv show and didnt really care what we wanted. Even though we had driven all the way out to see them (like an hour and a half) they said they would email us some quotes and still we didnt get it for a couple of weeks. I obviously didnt use them, and am happy I just went with a regular travel agent. After researching I figured out they essentially do the same thing.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
