Ocean Blue & Sand-Punta Cana

Recommended Posts

Since I am newly switching to Ocean Blue & Sand, I had a few questions that some of you might be able to answer:

1. Is alcohol included in the wedding packages?

2. Is tax and gratuity included in the wedding packages?

3. How many weddings does Ocean Blue & Sand allow in one day?

4.  The Sand Extravaganza package says hosts 30 guests, but at the bottom it says something about 40 maximum?  Anyone know what this is about? I am planning on having at least 50.

JB, when u got a group rate for hotel, did u work with the TA or u went directly to the resort? i normally book with Applevacations, or my local TA who books it with apple. I called my TA, and asked about weddings....and hotels... she didn't seem to be very interested, because she knows it will be a hasstle with a group of ppl i think....But anyhow, i always do the legwork myself for any of my trips... Cant wait for the prices for april to come out...even thought im nervous to see the hight numbers$$$.

MsClarke,  i belive the alcohol is included. What resort did you plan on originally?

Skygirl I did the legwork myself, too and asked a couple different TAs for a quote then I went with the best rate. I also tried to go through the resort but they advised me to go through a TA for the best deal... which I thought was kinda odd... Anyway, when I first started this process I found that not all TAs are excited to have a potential group clients, another odd thing for me-- I mean wouldn't they want to earn their commission in bulk? lol.

MsClarke, Alcohol is included in some of the package-- I'm only certain of the two I'm considering sand extravaganza and ocean romance. Taxes are included, I think when you add on guests that's when you have to apply the tax rate. That's all the info I got for your questions. Hope that helps!

I just talked to apple vacation and here is what they say:march 18-25, $220per room/dowble occupancy. As far as airline schedule, they said date, has not been released yet. Ladies, do you think i will be able to get better price then $220 per room?which is $110 per person/ per night?I think Ocean Blue usually around $90 per/p/n??

I feel your pain. I'm on the same boat as you are... I have spoken to 2 WC coordinator since i started to plan my wedding. Now the first WC i had which was Julissa was GREAT... i loved her, but now i have Ada which i cant wait til she leaves because she makes everything so much harder and complicated. she has given me different prices for everything. after a few back and forth email she said that she will honor everything Julissa gave me. But I'm so over Ada that I'm just waiting for her to leave on maternity leave because i can not even talk to her.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
