Ocean Blue & Sand-Punta Cana

Recommended Posts

@trivera - she usually gets back to you within a day or so, but I've had a bit of trouble getting all of my questions answered (like, if I ask four questions, it seems like she only answers the first one.) So just a heads up - be very clear with all of your questions and don't be afraid to rephrase/ask again :) She seems very nice and easy to work with - I'm excited to meet her in person!

Hi there! I am planning on booking my wedding at the Ocean Sands in Feb. and I am just wondering if the beach was nice during that time of year and what time you got married. My TA said that 5 pm is available and I would like to know if the sun is about to set at that time. How did you find the WC you worked with and do you have the price lists for the decorations and spa? Congrats to you and thanks in advance for any details you can provide me with! We're doing the Sand Extravaganza package, with the reception being held at La Brasa.

Anyone have any idea when you select your food? I've seen the options, but I don't know if we just choose when we're down there or if it's done in advance.

@Kelly - did you contact them or did they contact you to get that lined up? I don't want to be a pain to Yinette, but I don't want to overlook anything either, in case I'm supposed to be the one that's reaching out.

When you get back, I'd love to hear how everything went :) Happy last couple weeks of planning!

I am also thinking the Sand Extravaganza with the reception at the La Brasa. But when I emailed Yinette about prices I'm getting confused. I got the price list, but when I emailed Yinette about how much of a deposit I need to put down she she responded with this:

Dear Erin,

Brasa Restaurant Privatization ( including a set menu, open bar, waiters service ),  .
Extra per person  USD31.50
We require a minimum of 40 Pax , if you  not qualify  for this quantity , you must pay the difference untill the 40 people
.

My wedding isn't until 10/11/12 and I'm not sure how many ppl we will have (Minimum 30). She also stated in a previous email a few months ago, when I confirmed my date, I must put a deposit down to reserve the La Brasa, which I would like to do now the make sure we will have it.

I didn't have to put down a deposit to get La Brasa. (I'm doing everything through Delta Vacations, and OB&S is one of their 'romance package' resorts, so maybe that's different between you and I? Or maybe my TA did something to book it for us? But as far as I know, no deposit, but I did get confirmation from Yinette that we have La Brasa booked.)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
