Can anyone recommend a good place to get bridal gown alterations in Toronto or GTA? I purchased my dress from Best for Bride and they offer alterations (full package for $250 or individual prices per area). Is that a good price?

    TIA!

You could phone around and get quotes for alterations. I use someone north of Ave. & Lawrence. I haven't used her for a wedding dress, but am using her for my bridesmaid dress and have used her for lots of clothes/coats. Not sure if that's convenient for you though... she's good and pretty cheap. I think she just calls it Rita's Alterations.

        Amy,

Have you made a decision about alterations yet?  I bought my dress at David's Bridal and am wondering where to go in the GTA.

Not sure if it helps you, but I have a great seamstress in Brampton. I have been using her services for basics like pant hems, and my FI shirts. She has also done an amazing job on a couple of bridemaid dresses for me in the past year. She does wedding dresses as well. I will be taking my wedding dress there shortly...just have to find the time (mind you my wedding is in January, so I still have some time) The name is Qobolla Bridal Seamstress. They have a website, with some basic pricing. She works out of her home with her sister, and they are both wonderful people to deal with. Good luck.

I need to find a seamstress too. I bought my dress at the Dress Room but they're alterations start at about $300! If I don't find someone reasonale here I might just go to my home town...smaller and invariably cheaper!

My friend went to Lunaris in Richmond Hill and they did a good job.  I think lunaris.ca is their web, hope this helps!

Did you ever find a seamstress in Toronto?

Any brides in Toronto or the GTA been to a good seamstress recently?  I live downtown in the West-end and have yet to find a great seamstress.  I need to get my wedding dress altered and I'd love to hear your recommendations.

If you drive, I would say Club 10 Tailors. My family and I have been using them for years!  They can be pricey sometimes on thing but they do amazing work. So far this is the only place I keep going back to when I have expensive clothing to be altered.
