Cabo or Puerto Vallarta???

Ladies! I need your help. We would've loved to have our wedding in Hawaii, but it is a bit too far for a lot of our guests on the East Coast. Thus, we are now considering Cabo or Puerto Vallarta to have a destination wedding. Unfortunately, I've never been to either. Have any of you been to both and which would you prefer to have a wedding?

Between the two, which has more activities for our guests, natural raw beauty, ability to get away from the cheesiness of the resort towns/areas, and better beacheshuh.gif? Which is the lesser tourist trap?

Thanks for your help!

Cabo is my personal favorite, as you can see, I'm getting married there next month. I've been to both places but Cabo more times. My daughter got married in PV and it was fun and gorgeous, as well. You couldn't go wrong with either place. Good luck with your decision.

I like Cabo better but it's also more expensive than Puerto Vallarta. If you don't want a very touristy spot, try staying in San Jose instead San Lucas. The activities are pretty much the same, but I feel there is more clubs in Cabo than Vallarta.

Good luck! bunny_4.gif

HI,

One thing to consider between PV and Cabo is the weather. PV is more humid and rains more often than in Cabo. You need to check according to the month you want to get married. Cabo has a more constant weather, except for august and september, the rain is very unlikely.

Other than that, both are beautiful places. My WC works for both places, maybe she can help you. Send me an email if you need her info: [email protected]

I have been to both PV and Cabo and in both cases I did a lot of sightseeing (the local way - walking around, catching a taxi/ferry or taking the local bus). Both places have great sightseeing and tons of options for things to do.

I found that the water was more clear in Cabo, but that might have been the time of year. Surf is really strong out in Cabo though, so the beach at your resort may not be good for swimming and so you might need to go out of the resort to swim.

Both towns have resort than can be far away from town, so you might need to look into that if it bothers you. Both have a lot of people trying to sell you stuff on the beach and big resorts.

Yes, it can rain in PV but it all depends on the month. Some airlines stop to fly to Cabo in the winter because it gets cold there!

Hope this helps a little... good luck!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
