Hello everybody,

My name is Jackie, and my fiance and I are planning a DW for November 2010. We both live in the Boston area and are currently trying to decide where among the Caribbean, DR, and Mexico, to have our wedding.

Any tips / suggestions would be appreciated!

We are pretty easy-going with this, but here are a few parameters:

- easy flight access from Boston and Montreal

- family-friendly resort (e.g. kids can come)

- relaxing resort layout (not a big fan of gigantic hotel towers)

- golf nearby would be nice, but not necessary

Probably the most challenging aspect is finding a resort nice enough that my 5-star resort hopping relatives are not going to be disgusted with, but that also won't be so pricey that less well-off relatives won't be able to afford (or we can't afford to help them out...)

Thanks,

Jackie

We are doing the Beaches (AI) Negril and Beaches is the family friendly version of Sandals... not sure about the golf though... my TA said nice things about Hilton Rose Hall and they are both friendly and have a nice golf course (and sig cheaper than Beaches)

Welcome... Well what helped me was developing a spreadsheet on excel. to compare and contrast what each resort offered and the wedding packages.. we decided on Sandos Playacar Beach Resort. Its kid friendly and economical. I am not too sure about golf. but if you don't mind spending 1000 for a 3night check moon palace its a beautiful resort and it has golf. it was on our top 5 but for the price on guest we had to let it go. Do lots of research before you make your final choice. Happy Planing...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
