Hi east coast gals,

I am from Newfoundland, living in Newmarket On.. Go figure I had to stick with a comfortable name.

We are getting married feb 2/10 and planning our AHR for June, we have a pool so we're looking to do a pool side party with friends and family. I am not to sure about wearing the dress again, we'll see.

We are also having a AHR but haven't really started planning it yet..my parents belong to a Clublinks course and suggested having it at the golf course but not too sure....I sorta like the outdoorsy bbq idea myself..but like almost into the evening with torches and a big white tent. I sorta want a pig roast..is that just wrong? sad.gif

We're having our AHR in Burnaby at the Executive Inn Hotel....one week after we get back from Mexico!! It's gonna be a evening Cocktail Reception from 6-10. I think for decorations the hotel has center pieces and I'm just gonna get some balloons in our colours :-) I'll probably check out Micheals as well for some shells, marbles, rocks or something like that. And I ordered some cute fridge magnets with a tropical background and our names and date, for favors. Super cute and cheap from Vista Print.

Hope this helps a lil! Have great AHR!

We are having the destination wedding on April 15, 2010 in Punta Cana and then the AHR on May 1, 2010.

The AHR location at Glen Eagle in Bolton Ontario was actually booked four months before the destination wedding location. We knew the location we wanted for the AHR (great bar) and needed to book it straight away as the date we really wanted (one week later) had already been booked.

We are planning on having about 150 people for the AHR so to keep the costs down, we are not having a dinner but rather just the dance. So it will start with a cocktail hour followed by a slide show of the destination wedding and then on to the dancing.

For the centerpieces, we are doing the DIY but have bought the candle holders at Liquidation King. Pretty good deal. There were three candle holders in each box for $ 12.00. We did buy slightly larger candle holders for the head table for a little more $$.

Still haven't decided on what we will do for a guest book.

Not sure about what all needs to be done.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
