question about my dress and what the groom should wear

Recommended Posts

I have a question...

I am interested in the dress (possibly in Ivory).

Caprice - by Maggie Sottero

What should the groom wear? We are havng a beach wedding in the Spring and it will be warm. I had originally wanted him to wear a Tommy Bahama shirt with khakis and flip flops. Will that not look good? Should he wear a suite? If so, do you think a linen suite would be ok. Any suggestions you have would be great!

Do you think this would go with the dress no matter if it is white or Ivory? Or does the shirt need to match the dress? I don't know why I am having such a hard time with this!

First off...that dress is super sexy!! And because it has such a formal elegance to it, I'd think that a suit would be a better match, and tan would be a good colour - it matches white or ivory, AND it just has a good destination vibe!

I'm also looking at buying the Caprice. IMO, I'm going to be dressed up so I thought it was only appropriate for my fiance to wear a suit. We just got a great deal on a tan/khaki Ralph Lauren suit from Macys so I think he'll wear that. He may be a little warm, but can take it off after the ceremony and for most of the pics. Our best man is not wearing a suit though, just khakis and a white shirt. Goood luck!

So you're looking at the Caprice too?! Isn't it beautiful! It was between this and the Reese, but I think I am leaning towards the Caprice...though I plan on looking a bit more, just to make sure. What color shirt is your FI wearing and is he wearing a tie? I have also read that sometimes the beach weddings look nice witout a tie...so it still gives a little of a casual feeling. Is your best man wearing long sleeves or short sleeves?

Hmm good questions! I actually haven't made it that far yet :) I was thinking maybe a tie, but I see what you mean about wanting it to look more causual. I figured the best man would wear short sleeves (no reason he should have to suffer!)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
