We are planning our AHR for March 6th too!

How far in advance do you send out invitations? I was thinking of sending them the first week of January.....is this too late? (I don't want them to get lost in the Christmas mail chaos)

I think that is plenty of time. You are giving them two full months notice. Just make sure you send them early in January.
I am sending my invites for the wedding in early December (provided I have them). My invitations are a total after thought as everyone who is coming is already booked, but I figure it would nice to send something official out to get everyone excited right before Christmas... and then I probably won't bother with Christmas cards.

... and thanks FutureMsMoulton for clearing up the pregnancy confusion!!!

Thanks ladies!

When we booked flights for our DW, our TA provided complimentary invitations.......and they actually turned out really nice! I sent these out so that our guests would know about our DW and also so they could have our TA's contact info.

Now I'm in the process of designing invitaitons for our AHR. It is fun, but I'm having trouble "pulling the trigger" and actually ordering them. haha!

We are not planning an AHR. I didn't even think of that, but it's a great idea. Instead we invited everyone to Mexico! So we are expecting about 150 people. People are still booking. And planning is alot of work!

I am planning to send my invites out in 2 weeks. Just to motivate the last minute people to book. Our coordinator asked for a headcount 2 months ahead of time. Anyone else have to know their guest count that early?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
