Dreams Riviera Cancun - Brides post here (new thread)

Recommended Posts

Hi! I am trying to reserve our wedding in May 2010, but have not heard back from a WC yet. I emailed the weddings email address for general info.

Has anyone booked a ceremony and reception for more than 20 people? I'm anticipating maybe 50 guests and wondering what the reception will be like (private space, linens for tables, food, wait service, etc).

Do the May brides have a group room rate that they can share? I'd like to get an idea of group price.

BookIt.com has some amazing deals right now on airfare and accommodations.

Thanks!

I am a little nervous to post see how many weddings they will be doing. Although I know there will likely be more than just my wedding on the day of I also would like to think the groups will not be tripping over one another. This resort is not as big as say, the Gran Bahia, or Barcelo...there is a lot of hype around the resort which probably will really help to work out the kinks quickly.

All I can say about the WC is to be patient. Apparently she (Claudia - who actually is the WC for the Dreams Cancun site) just returned from holidays. Claudia still has yet to reply to my email from over 12 days ago and I only found out yesterday that she had been on holidays.

We too are planning to have at least 40 guests but sorry that I cannot provide you any info on our group travel prices as we are in Canadian prices and departure gates. What we were quoted was about $2100 CAD Per Person incl tax for the one week all-inclusive for the last bit of May 2010.

Hey ladies. I am looking at this resort. My W.C. is having a hard time getting a hold of any one to see if they have in opening for a wedding in May 2010. Any of you ladies that have talked to Claudia or the new W.C. is the resort pretty booked up already for weddings?

Also if anyone has a wedding package price list. Could you email it to me at [email protected]. I would really appreciate it. I cant wait for it to open and see the end result.

It took Claudia a few days to respond to my TA, but that was it. I'm sorry, but I'm not sure how booked they are. I'm sure they have availability, especially if you are flexible with dates and times for the ceremony.

The resort photographer is Juan Navarro. He is the current photographer for Dreams Cancun, so you can find some reviews of him on that thread. I believe when I searched before, I found a thread on his photography. There are mixed reviews. I have not decided if I will go with him or not. I would like to since it comes with the package, but have seen a lot of brides using outside photographers which makes me wonder...

Do you know if she is coming from another resort? Will Claudia be training her?

I just sent my signed contract in to Claudia yesterday, hope everything will be okay with the transition. I am sure they are all very competent but being so far away from the action makes me a little worried...plus, I have already done (and am sending out) the STD/invites and I hope the date will not need to be changed...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
