I'm going to have my invitations printed up very shortly but before I order them, I needed to know if I have to put the entree choices for my guests on the response cards. We are doing a sit down rather than the buffet with the Ultimate Package, and I know you have a choice of two entrees. Do they ask the guests at dinner which they would like or do I need to include it on the response card so the resort has that information ahead of time? I've been to weddings where it has been done both ways so I'm not sure!!! Thanks girls!
When I met with Ana she told me if we did a sit down dinner you need to pick ONE of the choices and everyone gets the same choice. They guests do not get to pick between two. We ended up doing the buffet because it gave the guests more choices because they would not let us do split menus.

Here is the pool deck setup in the day. At night they add spot lights for lighting and the infinity pool light was also on!

Here is our sweetheart table. The overlay was much too large for the table though.

Here is a table setup. We went really simple in the end. I had more vases for each table but the wind prevented any candles from being lit, so it was pointless to use the other vases. It provided the simple touch we wanted.

My husband loves Family Guy so I made these table numbers and bought seashell photo holders from Kohls to hold them up. Luckily, they were able to survive the wind.

Instead of chair sashes I made these decorations for the aisle chairs at the ceremony. They were perfect! It was the simple touch we wanted!!! I loved them!!!

And here are our escort cards!

Just a note... we used their overlays, but honestly, they did not really fit the tables. The tables are all circular and the overlays are all squared... so they looked a bit odd. The overlay on our sweetheart table was too large! Not sure what size they were but the tables sat 8 comfortably and I think they were standard sized banquet tables.

Yes and no. They would not tell me until that evening. I don't know why it took that long for them to know. Anyhow, we found out right as we were getting ready to go on our sunset catamaran excursion. When we came back we were too tired and drank too much to care about moving him into his room. So we didn't even use it. We figured we would see each other in the morning anyway. Although this was very important to me prior to that. I don't know why I changed my mind at the last minute. Anyhow, to answer your question, it depends on availability and they won't be able to tell you until the day before your wedding.

The other thing you could do if you have enough time is wait until you get your overlays and then if you find fuschia napkins on another site, you could just order a sample to see if it matches your overlay?
I don't really remember, but I think we had white napkins. The table cloth under the overlay is white, so it matches just fine.

Pretty stoked about it...it took me forever to decide on the right location and it came down to Dreams Riviera Cancun and Grand Princess and I am so pleased that I confirmed Dreams. I have absolutely no fears about anything since it's new and modern and beautiful...Knowing that Ana is a little slow eases my mind since I've read that she is great once you arrive so I will do what I can from here but will try to be relatively stress free until I arrive.

The (extremely long) countdown is on!
Lindsay
Congrats Lindsay! The months fly by! I swear just yesterday I was 10 months away from getting married...now I'm three! YIKES!

Thanks. I just got an email back from Ana last night about it. She did say we could mix and match between the three options they had but only one entree choice....that really sucks. I think the buffet is the way to go now.

I just need to vent for a minute too. Ana said the pool deck isn't available for our reception. I don't want it on the beach. I'm just kind of bummed because I feel like maybe if she had gotten back to me over a month ago when I first emailed her we could have gotten the reception where we wanted it, maybe not though. I just can't see paying all this money and then not having the big things the way you want. I can see some small things maybe not going so smoothly but the reception location is a big deal to me. I emailed her to see what other options besides the beach were available. Now just waiting to hear. sad.gif

Awww that does suck, maybe if she wasnt responding to you for a month she wasnt responding to the other party on the deck in the mean time either, I would like to think that for brides that are getting married around the same time she is answering emails in sequence, sucks in any case - another option is the pool area, its a little higher than the deck, you would be quite close to the other party but depending on the size of both maybe you would feel like you are seperate enough? hang in there, its going to be great ultimately

Thanks so much for posting the pictures of the deck! its so funny but it seems like its tough to find new pictures of the set up, there is the same 2 or 3 pictures just kicking around here, greatly appreciate getting a new vantage point! Cheers!

    • we ended up using Facebook messenger when we were in Mexico - the hotel had free wifi and at least 1 person from each family/couple had FB on their phone already - it was pretty easy to communicate among guests "hey, we're heading to the beach bbq for lunch." or "everyone is hanging at the small pool today".  a plus was that some people tried to get a hold of me via FB on the day of the wedding and I was totally not checking my phone - they were asking if the wedding was outside given the rain forecast, thankful my mom, MOH and a few other friends were on the group and could respond for me :)

    • Hi Everyone, So, I was cleaning out my closet and realized that I never sold off my extra wedding OOT bag stuff from our wonderful DW.   46 Daily Spanish for Dummies 30 Pool colored OOT fabric bags - approximately 13in x 13in. They lay flat.  I used them for our wedding and they were perfect for everything we needed to fit in each bag. There’s a slight shade variation in the group; I’m guessing some were cut from a different bolt of fabric.  They are also a little wrinkled from storage and will probably be wrinkled from shipping. I have three additional ones, but they somehow got something on them (likely toddler related). If needed, I can try to wash it out and send those as well.
    • I’m getting married in six months to my foreign girlfriend. I was advised by a friend that one of the things I need to do before saying I do is to get a prenuptial agreement. Basically it’s supposed to protect my assets and properties in case my relationship with my future wife goes down the drain. I don’t know though if this is an acceptable practice when marrying Kiev ladies. I don’t want to do it if it would be insulting on her end. I need advice on this. Please help me.
