Dreams Riviera Cancun - Brides post here (new thread)

Recommended Posts

Thanks for your review lsd203- can't wait to see your pics! Our wedding falls on a Sat too, and many of our guests have booked Thur-Mon as well...wish I had read your review before they booked. I thought about having them book Fri-Tues instead, but oh well- most wanted to travel with us- i.e. like our parents, who booked to arrive with us on Thurs because they wanted to help.

We've decided against having a rehersal dinner for that same fact (all incl-why pay extra), but did you ask Ana if they could accommadate your party at one of the restaurants? I know I read of a bride or two on here doing that, and it worked out for them. They didn't shut the place down, just sectioned off a part of a restaurant (I remember El Patio being mentioned), even though it was a bit of a pain (Ana had to ask the manager, etc). I'm sure it depends on the size of your party too. If its on the smaller side, say under 40 people, it might be more feasable...

Is beer served in cans or bottles??  I can't remember from my stay there last year.. I'm trying to decide if I should skip the mugs (since they would be such a pain to transport) and just go for beer koozies instread.  If I do that, do I need ones for cans or for bottles?

I am undecided about this as well. I've read that beer is served in plastic cups, but I would think they would have bottles too?  If we did get the mugs, would the hotel bars fill them up for the guests rather then everyone using plastic cups? I just don't want whatever I choose to be a waste.

My hair is actually a bit shorter. I had extensions clipped in to my hair to extend the length. The hair stylist that I had was very good and she assured me that she would make sure that my hair stayed well considering the humidity and wind in Mexico and she was absolutely right. She knew what to do with my hair and they hair-sprayed the crap out of it so that it didn't move! I brought my own hairspray from home, but it probably wasn't necessary because they have pretty good stuff at the resort.

Thank you thank you!  I feel the same, Kad1010.. I just don't want to waste money and lug all those mugs for nothing.  So I may just do beer and/or cup koozies instead.  Plus, I doubt most people would bring the mugs home with them... would take up too much space in their luggage (we were going to do the bubbas).  What to do?!

Melissa,

Your wedding pictures are so beautiful.  I love your wedding dress and everything about your wedding, it's looks absolutely perfect.  By the way, I just wanted to ask you where you bought the grooms' men shirts b/c my colors are sage and orange and I adore those shirts.  Thanks to you, I have ordered the pashimi scarves for the women as well.

Thank you Thank you sooo much for sharing:)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
