BTW you looked stunning and the set up was FANTASTIC!! SO PRETTY!!!!

I am so confused as to how they charge one couple one price and another couple a different price!

Anyway to answer the other persons question decocancun will charge you through the hotel.. so will DJ doremixx.

Thanks for all the great reviews!

How would I get in touch with Deco Cancun for pricing and options for reception decoration? I wasn't planning on doing much for decor, but I'm starting to second guess my choice and the wedding is on Dec. 3! Will someone please post Deco Cancun contact information?

Thanks!!

Great review beachykeen!

You mentioned that the buffet had pretty paper lanterns strung above it. Did the resort provide the paper lanterns or did you bring them? How many were there and approximately what were the sizes? Do you happen to have a pictures of it? or any of your reception set up for that matter? Sorry for all the questions but we're thinking about having our reception on the pool terrace too :)

Thanks for taking the time to share with us! It really helps ease the stress... especially when it takes forever to hear back from the coordinators... who I haven't heard from since August!

The resort provided the lanterns and it was a string of maybe 6 of them. Not sure on the sizes but I'll see if I can find any pictures. Once I get my professional pics back they will probably have one of the buffet and reception set up as a whole. Hope I can help more! My guests did comment that the set up was perfect and they loved seeing the resort lit up all around us. I would bring lots if bug spray too. The Mosquitos were pretty bad. We had little bug repellant wipes for everyone and it helped a lot.

Well congrats and thanks for your review.. its nice to finally hear from a bride whos doing it a little more low key like myself.

I have a maid of honor and 7 guests. We of course didn't see the need to pay for a private reception ,but I was wondering did you and your group just choose and restaraunt and go to it to eat after your ceremony?

The WC are telling me they cant make a reservation for a small group or anything unless you're having the private reception. I just sort of wanted that security that we know where were going to have dinner at and that we didn't have to wait if it was full- sort of stressing over that. But you said they had rose petals on the table and stuff for you? You didn't pay extra for that correct?

But if they refuse to make a reservation for (wow, only 7 people!) then i guess we should just arrive early so we don't have to wait and hope to get seated together?

Any input would help!

Thanks

Oh and I also forgot to ask you.. did you ask for the upgrade on the room when you got there or did they just give it to you?

We were stressing about whether to book the honeymoon suite automatically, or just hope for the free upgrade when we get there.

When we got there we had a group of about 20 for our rehearsal dinner and they said they couldn't reserve anything unless we booked it privately for $30 per person.  My Father in Law went up to the manager at Portofino and paid him $100 and they seated us all at one long table together and put rose petals on the table for us.  It was really nice but we wouldn't have had any options other than the private dinner if we wouldn't have gone to the restaurant manager with money.

However, we had a group of 7 get seated all together at Bordeaux, the French restaurant, a few nights after the wedding just for dinner and they didn't have any problems seating us together.  It was my favorite and the service and atmosphere were really romantic.  We also had a group of 7 get seated together at El Patio with no problems or waiting around.  I really don't think you will have a problem getting seated togehter at any of the restaurants if you just show up early for dinner.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
