  1. I leave on Dec. 1 and my TA said it shouldn't affect anything. It was a natural gas line that exploded... nothing that could have been prevented or predicted. Have fun and don't worry about it!
  2. Thanks for all the great reviews! How would I get in touch with Deco Cancun for pricing and options for reception decoration? I wasn't planning on doing much for decor, but I'm starting to second guess my choice and the wedding is on Dec. 3! Will someone please post Deco Cancun contact information? Thanks!!
  3. October is at the tail end of hurricane season, and June, July, and August are in the middle of it. I was the maid of honor in a wedding 5 years ago on Oct. 20 and Hurricane Wilma hit. We spent 5-6 days just trying to get out of Mexico. Heat probably isn't your biggest concern. Make sure to ask the WC what the contingency plan is in case of hurricane if you do it during hurricane season. It will probably be cheaper and safer if you do early December. Good luck!
  4. That's about the same quote I got. DJ was $300/hour plus tax and the alternative was to rent a sound system which is $180/hour plus tax. Either way, seems kinda pricey but I don't think there's any other alternatives. Gaby said that the sound system is pretty much necessary for the ceremony if you want anyone to hear. I only have 30 people in my party so far and she recommended it for the ceremony.  As far as the welcome dinner / rehearsal dinner... I got the same response. Here's what she told me: We don’t make reservations for any of our restaurants and it is first come first serve, in order for you to have your group all together in one area of the restaurant, we will need to make a reservation and a set menu for you, or if you prefer no reservations will be done for your group and you can arrive at the time you want, but we can not guarantee that you will all be seating together in the same area, since we will have other guests there.  All these extras are adding up!!
  5. What are you ladies doing for a rehearsal dinner and welcome cocktails? I want something informal and I thought I could just have dinner at one of the restaurants (there's about 30 of us), but I was told I'd have to pay at least $12 (plus tax and gratuity) for dinner. I don't want a private dinner, just a group in the same restaurant... Didn't think I'd have to pay for a dinner at an all-inclusive resort!
  6. Â Hello brides! I have never posted on here, but feel a little lost about the whole process. My wedding is on December 3, 2010 at 4:00. Not sure what I need to be doing at this point in time... Any recommendations? Should I be contacting the wedding coordinator (I gather it's not Ana any more)? What decisions as far as reception location, rehearsal dinner reservations, etc., should I be arranging now? Â Any help is appreciated! I'm learning so much from these posts! Â Thanks!
