Dreams Riviera Cancun - Brides post here (new thread)

Recommended Posts

JD Hall - I purchased the ultimate package and I'm having the Caribbean trio during our cocktail hour which is on the desire's terrace - when we were there in May Yazmin showed us how it would be set up.

We're also doing a welcome dinner where we're having the mariachi but since we don't know that location yet, I'm not sure of the set up.

I'd seriously double check on that dj situation... I'm on the pool deck and have a dj from 7-11.

Hey ladies.  Thanks to my TA, she was able to make contact with the WC and place our date for us.  Now I just have to fill out the authorization paperwork along with the deposit and I can officially say that I'm getting married October 28, 2011 at Dreams Riviera.  Can't wait.

Hi girls,

Has anyone who is using Doremixx for a DJ had recent contact with Ivan??  He is usually super responsive and very quick to reply. I've sent him two e-mails over the past three weeks and haven't heard a word.....making me a little nervous!  Just wanted to see if anyone else has had luck contacting him.

No problem Dawn!!  For the welcome dinner Yazmin had emailed El Patio to arrange something the day everyone got there.  But the manager never got the email.  SO after some chaos it actually worked out better...they set us up in the wine cellar in the french restaurant.  It was private and great!  They did set up tiki torches for us on the deck.  We didn't even ask for it...they just did.  The cocktail hour was at Desires Terrace and that was really nice too!!  I will email you pics!

Also, do they have any tiki torches they can set up as well? Where did you have your cocktail hour?

Yes, I had to put down a $500 deposit to hold my date.  Dreams faxed something to my TA and I had to sign it and fax it back.  They also need a photocopy of your license and credit card. I would def double check that.

My daughter just had her wedding 08/09/10.  We had the deck from 7-8 for cocktails and then 8-11 for dinner.  She had a guitarist for the cocktail hour that was superb!  We then had a dj so I'm not sure why you would be told that.  We did book them through Ana and they were fantastic.  Good luck!

Yes, I just e-mailed with him a few days ago.  He was very responsive to me.  I'm sure he will get in touch soon.  FYI, Gabriela told me they aren't allowing any outside vendors for a DJ and that we have to use the resort DJ.  I contacted Ivan and he contacted Yazmin who told him that yes, he is allowed to do weddings and that our date is confirmed with him.

She also told me no outside photographers but I don't think this true either.  Don't get too alarmed if anyone gets a message from Gabriela that has information that is totally different than what you have been told.  Maybe she isn't up to par yet??

Does anyone have Yazmin's e-mail address?  I think it would be more productive to communicate with her.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
