We went with an oceanview room for the wedding...I'm trying to convince my mom to get a suite :) or I'll just keep my fingers crossed for an upgrade :)
Ana just came back and told my TA she could get us $119 a night (per person) or $218 for me and my FI for our site visit... Are you kidding me? That isn't a promotional rate. WTH? Did she give you the smallest, garden view room for your site visit?

We are not doing a site visit, but for the wedding we were able to get rates of $155 per person and luckily we got airfare for $294 round trip from Chicago... very cheap!!!

I booked with Apple Vacations and the good thing is that Apple does their own promotions. For groups, every 25th (maybe it is 26th) person is free. So if you are going to have 50 people there, atleast you and your DH will be free... which allows you to spend money on other things for the wedding. We were able to get this and the promotion that Dreams was offering at the time... (every 6th room free).

When you say you are getting 115 per person you mean per night for what kind of room?

I have two people flying from Chicago and the flights I have looked up are outrageous what airlines did you book with??
Thanks

She told me when I first asked to let her know right away so she could see if that rate was available the weekend we wanted to come down. It was $90 per person per night for a maximum of 3 nights I believe. I'm assuming she's giving us the smallest garden room for the site visit but we don't really care too much - since it's a super quick trip (flying down friday night after work and leaving sunday afternoon)

But I'm a big fan of photography.. and I feel like to maintain our budget I either can get the photographer I really want, or the DJ - but not both. And I feel a little selfish because I know our guests would enjoy the DJ far more than they will about a great photographer being there!

What are your thoughts and what are you going with?
Ashlynn, We can share a photgrapher and he is not that expensive!!!! OH and you have to get the DJ!! email me [email protected]

Chesley- Who are you using for a photgrapher?

I just heard from Ana that it will cost me 650.00 to rent the PROJECTOR for the welcome party?? OK - this is INSANE!!! Again this has to be a mistake...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
