Hello brides out there!

I am STUCK! I need advice on which resort is the best for us! I am drawn to Sun Palace because it looks hip and fresh (and expensive!) but want to make sure everyone is comfortable. There are no pics of weddings at sun palace though... Then Paradisus looks like and comfortable with plently of past brides to put your mind at ease.

We would like more adults only, plently to do, good food with 4 or 5 restaurants and a nice private area for the reception and dinner/dance. Price is a big concern too but I will work with a travel agent.

Any compairisons for Sun Palace vs. Paradisus?

THANK YOU!

Upon reviewing some traveladvisor pages I see that Paradisus had alot of kids... thats really not the environment we want. But Sun Palace was "dead" after 10:30pm. We dont want that either!!

We are also considering Le Blanc - maybe that is in between?

Hi- I saw your other post and we are having same issue. We are thinking March 2010- Our first thought was Le Blanc because we have friends that have been there and raved about it and I also saw pics from a wedding there and it looked beautiful. But we have the issue of thinking it is too expensive for our guests! We are fine with our costs, but I feel like it is too much to ask of our friends to pay around $2500 for 4 nights- We also would like to keep this under 2K. I am going crazy visiting websites and searching for answers! Le Blanc seems perfect, but expensive for guests. I saw the comments about kids at Paradisus on traveladvisor as well and wasn't crazy about that. I've also been told Sun Palace and Moon Palace are really nice too. Excellence looks nice as well. I'm so undecided and feel the pressure because I need to send save the dates out soon! I'm no help to you, but feel your pain :)

Hi Lyzkoco!

I am meeting with a travel agent today to get some more info. As I research more and more, I feel the SUn Palace might be the better fit. I looked on their website and then called. The lady in Miami who sells the hotel said it was $388 per couple, per night. I am in the same situation - under $2K for each couple is max. This would still be a good option though. You and I should fly there and check it out!!

  • 2 weeks later...

You may want to take a peek at Royal Playa Del Carmen or Royal Cancun- both modern adult only ai's ( not as glass & brass as Sun Palace though). We're having a webinar on the Royal Resorts September 17th

Another great alternative would be Excellence Riviera Cancun !Excellence Resorts webinar will be October!

They both tend to price a bit better than Sun Palace!

Don't know if this will help but you may also want to read through the Moon Palace thread. Me and several other brides got married there last month and it is amazing, relaxed, and we didn't see many children. Also, one of the recent brides, got married at Moon Palace and Honeymooned at La Blanc. She was just talking about it on some of the last Moon Palace thread pages. You may be able to PM her and ask some questions.

Thank you so much Tina for all the pictures! This is def something we are looking for! This is so challenging not being there to see what the places are like in person - wish it wasn't so much $ to go and check them out!

We are still torn and might push a wedding date back so we have time to make the best decision for us and our guests!

We vacationed at Sun Palace over New Years 2 years ago and it was beautiful but definitely a lot more calm than any of the other resorts I've been to in Mexico (The Royal, Moon Palace, Riu). It was perfect for that get away from everything feeling if that is what you are going for.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
