Hello,

I am trying to decide between a Jan. 2011 wedding or May 2011 wedding in the Tulum area. The prices are better in May, but it seems that it will be very humid. January will have less chances of rain, but is it too coldhuh.gif I want my guests and my fiance and I to be comfortable!! What do you think? I would love opinions about weather during these times...

We just got married in June near Playa del Carmen and it was hot and humid! But, it looks like the weather doesn't change too much during the year. We had a blast but it was hot for sure. Check weather.com for weather in Jan vs. May although I don't think it has humidity. Good luck planning!

It is VERY windy in Tulum and I believe that to be the case all year round. So while it might still be humid in May, you will also get a significant breeze to cool things down. In thinking about January, were you considering getting married around the holidays or later in the month? If you are flexible with months, perhaps Feb or March could proove to be more economical, warmer than Jan but not as humid as May.

Similar to Blkatz, cost for our guests guided our decision to choose to get hitched in the low season.

We couldn't decide either between January and May / June. In the end we picked January for economics as it was the cheapest of the two rates quoted for us. Also, coming from the land of ice and snow, it was a great way to break up winter :) The only downside were friends who are still in school can't get January off.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
