Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya Brides??

Recommended Posts

Congrats Janette!!

Its so lovely to hear that you had a fabulous wedding. Elizabeth says she'll meet us the day we arrive and then again the following day to finalize all the details.

Thanks MJKH for your words as well.

I think I had a bit of a momment, but all is good now. My TA was able to get the WC to get back to me, I received an email last night. They have corrected the date for my rehersal dinner now - phew. That was a big relief.  That really was my biggest concern, it couldn't wait until I got to Mexico as I want it to happen this Sunday. One little email and now everything has fallen into place.

I was told by Elizabeth that "so and so would be my wedding planner" and that person kept changing so that concerned me, but after hearing that the group works as a team I feel much, much better. Only 3 more Sleeps til we leave, and I haven't started to pack!!

Linds0128, I'll still be there when you come. We are staying a 2nd week for a honeymoon - well be there from April 22-May 6th.

Oh, I'm so happy to hear you're feeling better about things...and good call on the a la carte booking for Sunday for the group.  Honestly, the Asian night at the buffet (Sundays) was my least favourite night...I wish we would have done an a la carte booking for the group that first night as well.  We were told their system isn't set up to book reservations more than a week in advance.  It just would be nice to be told these things outright...like explain that "the reason you can't get back to me on that right now is that our system can only book the a la cartes a week in advance"...or whatever...rather than having all of these brides (including myself) stressing out over a large-group booking.

Anyway...the ladies in the wedding office are awesome...I should clarify that the letter we were given the day we checked in said Elizabeth would be the primary coordinator for our wedding.  Before that, we were never given a name.  Once you're there and meet with them and see how they're set up and work together, you'll feel even better : )

Have an AWESOME time!!!  Can't wait to hear back from you! : )

Hey ladies!! I'm getting married at Sirenis in 7 months and 3 days!! I'm so excited, and thanks to this forum, I'm not stressing about the lack of communication with the co-ordinator.. they have replied to the emails I've sent them, but I've stopped sending the hoardes of emails with details and plans because I've realized that they do up to 2 weddings everyday, so with mine being so far away it's low priority.. So thank you guys for starting this forum, it's so helpful!! I check back all the time.. and MKJH, you're pictures are phenomenal!! Love the idea of the thank you card and fan on each chair (I just might have to hijack that one lol) Still deciding on whether to do OOT bags, but yours were also fabulous!

I did have a couple of questions though, would you guys recommend doing the rehersal dinner at an a la carte, or just have everyone gather at the buffet? We were there for new years 2011, when my fiance proposed, so we know our way around and know all of the restaurants, just wondering if its more of a hassle to try booking a restaurant for 30 people?? And during the rehersal dinner, is the wedding co-ordinator there going over stuff, or is it basically just a meet and greet dinner with all the guests? Also, is there an option to have centrepieces for each dinner table for the reception, or did you girls bring your own to have set up.. I'd like to just have them done, because I don't want to have to pack down a crap load of extra stuff, especially breakables. Just not sure if the prices are way off the charts or not.. Thanks for your help, and thanks again for the awesome thread!!

Hi...thanks a bunch!  And congrats on your upcoming wedding!!! : )

The thank you cards worked well for us...everyone knew each other, we didn't really have a wedding party, and our service was pretty basic.  Had we not used them at the ceremony, I would have incorporated a similar message on the wedding reception favor card I think.  I would totally recommend a rehearsal dinner at an a la carte...there was just something kinda nice and extra special about getting the group of us together the night before in a more intimate setting...everyone dressed up a bit...it was really the only meal we all had together (besides the reception dinner) and it was great that Elizabeth was there to make sure the seating was correct/favors were out as they should have been.  She just got the group's attention before dinner and spent a minute or two chatting...introduced herself and gave everyone the lowdown re: arrangements for the next day.  Then she left.  Just remember that your group will only have a two-hour sitting at an a la carte...we moved into one of the lobby bars after.  As far as our centerpieces for the reception, we took the vases and Elizabeth got them to the florist with the inspiration photo.  Ours were primarily roses, so they were a bit more expensive ($30/each)...but I'm sure they could do anything you wanted them to.

We had an amazing week at the Grand Sirenis and things couldn't have gone better, my only regret is not staying for two weeks!  I don't have all my photos yets but here are some that the on-site photographer took.  The quality is actually much better than it appears but they are scanned onto my computer so some of the detail/sharpness has been lost.  Although I don't have a picture of the palapa set up yet I can tell you it was absolutely amazing!!!  Elizabeth was my wedding coordinator and totally went above and beyond my expectations.

Janette...OMG...it looks awesome!!!  I am so glad to hear everything went well and look forward to hearing more!  Love all the little sparkly starfish touches and the bouquet was so pretty.

You and I have been on here so long, I'm kinda sad that it's over now for us : (

Congratulations and all the best!

I know, I don't know what I'm going to do now!  The past year has been devoted to wedding planning and I'm already starting some serious withdrawl.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
