aw :) we've all been through this! Here is where I would start.... a date. I picked one and then narrowed down resorts based on which still had my date available. I became set on my date and it made things easier when the resorts werent available (it was like a sign or something!)

Also, a budget. How much do you want guests to spend? How much do you want to spend? Also where do you picture yourself getting married....on a beach? in a gazebo? a garden area? then going through pics and seeing which locations are better than others. Those were allll my starting out thoughts and thats what helped! good luck!

NUmber #1-- MAKE A LIST.

It will save your life. Add to it, or get rid of things-- but as you check things off the stress will just float away.

First-- Destination choice

Second-- Resort picks (2 back-up choices, JUST IN CASE)

Third-- Start plugging through these threads and look for:

- invite inspiration

- STD etiquette

- start looking for OOT bag stuff (cheaper at end of summer)

Most importantly-- Remember to enjoy every moment. While planning is by-far the most stressful part, it can also be some of the most fun. :) Get creative, and have fun! :)

Still no date or a venue. sad.gif

BUT, FI just moved down to Dallas (he lives in Chicago) for 6-8 weeks to stay with me and to plan the wedding. :) I've narrowed it down to 3 resorts; one in Hawaii, 2 in Mexico. Now, I'm searching for a location in the Caribbean. (FI is very inclined to the Caribbean.) We now have a budget - so it helps. At this point, I find myself more and more thinking - Civil service and let's call it a day!

...

Not really...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
