We ate at the Plantation several times. It is big, 2 stories, and open-air. Very pretty. If you had exclusive use of it there is room for them to remove tables/chairs and set up a dance floor. I'm not sure if that's something they normally do because when I was there the receptions were in the disco, but there is totally room in the Plantation if they allow it.

Hi Girls!! Our wedding is from 2pm-3pm. So I figure after the ceremony and pictures around 3pm I will have a cocktail hour with hordourves served at the beach bar, I believe its called the sea grape bar. After that I hope to sneak away for awhile with the new hubby until dinner at 630...lol We were planning on about 25-40 guests but the list was cut after the future inlaws decided that "Jamaica is not our community and a wedding should be shared with our own community" and they are now boycotting it. I did rent the disco but now I am thinking of canceling it because friday night is the beach party and I would rather be out on the beach then inside. So I need some ideas if any of you have any where we could have our 1st dance if I decide not to go with the disco...

Yeah! Chandlyn finally emailed me back last night. I reserved the Plantation from 6:30 to 8:30. I'm not sure if I'm going to also reserve the disco for later on that night because it is a Friday and I've heard such great things about the beach party on Friday nights. Still not sure what to do in between the ceremony and reception, but I'm sure eveyone will figure something out. When Chandlyn emailed me, she did not mention anything about an included menu, just the ones that I have to pay for; also, we have to pay for open bar?!? I just think it's weird because the guests are already paying for their food/alcohol...oh well!

Jerzzy girl...sorry to hear about your guest problems. I'm having some of the same issues with my future in-laws. But I realized no matter what I do, someone will be unhappy. It's your day, so do what you want!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
