Hey everyone!

 

Joy from Chicago here, trying to plan a Catholic DW in Kauai, while the future hubby is still in Philly. Since we're getting married Jan 23, 2010, and both live in really cold winter cities, a beach DW was a must.

 

I look forward to reading what you're all planning and hope to get some great tips/suggestions!

Welcome!

I'm catholic too & was planning on having a catholic wedding.. while doing research i realized that they do not approve of non-church weddings... (only under special circumstances, such as at a hospital if someone is sick/dying)

it may help you to read their discussion.... although it does get REALLY technical to the point where i just decided to have the outdoor DW & a church wedding at home

Welcome Joy!!!

Being from Wisconsin, I COMPLETELY understand your need for a beach wedding during January (and that's my birthday too... so I KNOW how cold it is, yearly!). I have heard things such as vivrant posted up above where they won't allow a Catholic service outside of a church, but hopefully you can find exactly what you are looking for.

Welcome and Congratulations!!

It's true, I was trying to have an outdoor beach Catholic wedding, but they won't allow that, so I ended up having to switch my resort to one that has a Chapel inside. Maybe that can be an option for you.

Funny, we're thinking of getting married that same day too but in Cancun.

      Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010.       Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else.
