How about you?
We're staying at Shangri-la Caribe. Wanted to marry there but, they only do 1/wk. So, now we're marrying at the resort next door, Las Palapas. It's at the north end of Playa.

We initially wanted to marry at Gran Porto Real (think they changed their name) but, we felt that it would be way too expensive for them....

Heard lots of good things about Ib. Tucan! When's your wedding date?

We are doing similar things as all of you. We have arranged for a welcome coctail party, the wedding, reception dinner, and dancing. We have welcome bags, ceremony favours (fans), and reception favours. We have also arranged for a farewell/thankyou dinner, but we are at an ai so there will be no cost for this. To keep costs down we have arranged for activities that are included at the resort. We are having a basketball tournement and we have arranged for beach vollyball. Things with price tags are a spa day (I included the list of prices in the oot bags), and we have chartered a boat for a deep sea fishing excursion, we broke the price down per person (it is really reasonable), and again, included the price of this in the oot bags. We are also paying for my nephew to come, to help my sister. Who you help out (if anyone) financially is a personal thing and does not need to be disclosed to anyone else. Of course, I am paying for all travel costs, clothes, jewellery, and excursions, for our wedding party of five.

hehhehehe, The wedding party consists of just me, Everton, and our five children.(lol)

There are a couple of threads on this but since you're new I'll fill ya in. Martin (my bf) and I have decided on a Summer Wedding, probably in '09 but definitely in PDC. We love it there! He has bought the ring but has yet to propose. I'm in the "waiting" stage right now. wink.gif

We are paying for my MOH and his BM travel expense. Working on OOT bags, reception after ceremony, and I need to look into a welcome dinner. We are at an all-inclusive so I think I just need to make reservations for everyone at one of the restaurants. I looked into doing a a day trip and paying for everyone, we just can't afford that. I love the idea of using the resorts free activities and having some sort of prizes.

OK, well, for my fantasy wedding (no bling yet), we'll be paying for our wedding parties attire and accomodations, parents accomodations, and then OOT bags. I'd like to do a sunset snorkel cruise as a welcome dinner/rehersal dinner, but that will depend on what we get from the parents. If they don't support us financially, then no cruise!

We're paying for the same things you are - Welcome Reception (complete w/ a donkey wearing a sombrero and carrying coronas), OOT bags, and reception dinner (which we will hopefully get for "free" as part of our wedding package provided no more than 40 guests show up!!! That's it, though. Our guests are also considering this their vacation, so I don't think anyone is put out by having to pay for their travel and lodging. Whoever you heard of is paying for their travel and loding for all of their guests must be well off!!

Which Karisma resort are you having it at? Azul or El Dorodo?

I absolutely love the donkey party! We're thinking about changing locations to Azul Beach--- FI fell in love with beach butlers and beach beds! :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
