**Dreams VILLAMAGNA- Post Info Here!**

Recommended Posts

I tried calling during my lunch hour but couldn't get through. So I did email Cynthia and Rocio (who was the first person to ever help me). I sent an email with a huge list of questions. So hopefully one of them will answer me. My fiance thinks I am just stressing too much but I would rather know now then have to stress when I get there. I'll keep you all posted.

Thanks!

I never got a chance to update before the weekend....

Rocio wrote me back in 30 minutes after I sent the email and he answered every question I had! I feel A LOT less stressed now. The only issue that I haven't gotten a straight answer about is the beach arbor. He told me it included the chairs, bows, aisle runner, ceremony table and 2 floral pieces but no mention on the arbor itself? I was also told that we could only pick 1 entree? I thought it would have been 2, but that is ok.

3 weeks and counting!!!!

  • 2 weeks later...

I'm not even getting married there - just staying there for the week with my 75 guests, and both the wedding coordinators and the concierge have been fantastic. They usually respond to my email questions within an hour. They've helped me to hire a cigar roller, book spa appointments before I arrive, estimate taxi cost to specific locations, etc. Fantastic service! - 2 1/2 weeks until we depart : )

I can't say the WC has been the greatest but I definitelty agree that concierge has been very responsive! I did have the WC call me a few weeks ago and it helped settle my nerves. She assures me that most of it will be taken care of when I get there and I am sure it will. I leave next week, wedding is on the 23rd so I will be sure to update when I get back!

FYI - I emailed Dreams regarding some of the issues that I noticed from the reviews on trip advisor and here are the responses from Dreams:

1. Regarding the leaking in our guest rooms, we had a serious problem in the beginning, since we used glass divisions between the showers, toilets and sinks, and it was not correctly sealed, however, this is not a problem anymore at the resort.

2. None of our ceiling fans are broken and regarding the AC, we have had several external problems that affected DreamsVillamagna, as well as other resorts in the area, since the first equipment in the hotels to be affected by this energy issue is the AC . The electrical supply of Nuevo Vallarta comes from Mazatlan (300 miles to the north) and Manzanillo (300 miles to the south) and during the heavy rainy season we are sometimes affected. Fortunately winter and spring are the “dry” seasons, so we should have no AC issues.

3. One of our strongest areas is our 3 large pools. We had a problem with one of them, but at no time was there any risk to any of our guests, nor did our occupancy demand the necessity to use all three pools, however, several guests chose to ignore our warning signs and use this pool anyway, since its appearance seemed satisfactory to them.

4. We have almost doubled the “shaded” areas, so if anyone visited us between December and March they will note the difference. Unfortunately, during the summer no one wants to be out in the sun for more than 15 minutes (unless you are in the pool) and during the winter people spend 2 or 3 hours, without a problem, under the sun.

5. You can drink next to the pool but not while inside the pool, in order to avoid kids or adults spilling drinks in the pool.

6. Luis Fitch, our Hotel Manager, is one of the best Chefs I have ever met and it is for this reason that he was asked to join the company. In the very near future, we expect to have very positive Food & Beverage comments on the internet.

8. We are doing our best to, once again, include non-motorized water sports to our daily activities. We can assure you that at least kayaks and boogie boards will be ready for you during your upcoming visit.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
