Flying to Thailand, one flight 18 hours, another 15 hours, we definitely need upgraded on those!
I was wondering about upgrades I usually save my miles for a free ticket we are going to Ireland at the end of the month how do we go about using miles to upgrade? We are flying Continental and we already have purchased our trip, do you know if its too late?

Oh no its definitely not too late! On continental you can do it up to 24 hours before departure. We often even buy miles to use for upgrades cause it's cheaper than paying for a business/first class ticket. I think Continental actually allows you to do it online. The number of miles you needs depends on what fare class your tickets were booked in. So if you bought a full fare ticket (highest price & refundable) you need 10,000 miles for each ticket to upgrade to Ireland, if you have lower fare class (discount price & non-refundable) then you need 20,000 miles each.

Every airline has air miles. Some call them something different to fit in w/ their name, but all have miles. You get miles for the miles you travel w/ them and can use them towards free tickets, upgrades, shops, hotels, restaurants, and can be used to buy passes to that airlines lounge in the airports. You can also buy miles for yourself or transfer miles.

Its a global thing hun!

For example i can get miles for my united air mileage or use my united miles on any of the following airlines:

ADRIA Airways

Lufthansa

Air Canada

SAS

Air China

Shanghai Airlines

Air New Zealand

Singapore Airlines

ANA

South African Airways

Asiana

Spanair

Austrian Airlines Group

Swiss International Air Lines

BLUE1

TAP Portugal

bmi

THAI

CROATIA Airlines

Turkish Airlines

EgyptAir

United

LOT Polish Airlines

US Airways

Air Miles is a card in Canada that doesnt apply to just one airline. You can only earn the miles but saying grocery shopping at certain stores that participate in the program every $20 in groceries you buy you get 1 Air Mile. we cant buy extra airmiles in this program and it can be so hard to find the places to try let the points build up. I was just confused if it was also American for the Air Mile program, but now I get what you are talking about, something like Aeroplan miles I guess.

https://www.airmiles.ca/arrow/Home;A...uestid=6340242

this is the site for the program I was thinking of when this thread came up..its the one I use :) sorry for the confusion I may have caused

CaboBride,

Yes...it's the actual air miles program that I was talking about!

And aeroplan is the miles program the Air Canada uses!

West Jet actually uses the air miles (blue card!) program!

It's so confusing!! There are so many rewards programs out there!!! LOL

I know even some banks offer travel miles (not to be confused with Air Miles or Aeroplan!) lol

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
